Sorry for the ranting lol, but it was pretty darn frustrating, & getting on my nerves that day- but I finally got it. Sorry I didn't have a chance to use my tripod......

Thanks for the info! Especially the right place to cut the latch at 3:00 I was able to get one nut off it inside the door, then used pliers to wiggle break the latch arm and stud off. Snuck an angle grinder into the door for the other two nuts. A little encouragement from inside with my boot and now I can get to my chains and other nonsense in the back seat! A++ will watch again.

a follow up, my 02 door panel lot harder to remove bout 8 dreaded lock pins in it, I suggest just remove outer handle disconnect lower lock rod ,pull to open if can only use top lock

My lower latch was stuck. Rust. This video helped me see the 3rd bolt. But I broke and cut nothing. After cleaning the bolts. And rod an clip I took a 3 ft bar and forced it open. That did rip two bolt holes a little. But it opened. I cleaned up the latch got it working. The reinstalled works great.

Thanks for the help Brother, I used a dremal tool with a small cut off wheel to get in the door. And the cut off wheel or grinder when I got the door open. You saved me a huge head ache and I want to say thanks !!!

This is the most common problem with these trucks...if it's seized shut ..you can pry and cut and curse for days doing this ..the best way I found was to pull the door handle and block it open with a piece of wood then get a six by six and lay it inside your door right where the latch is..then get a ten pound sledge and hit the block as hard as you can ..should come loose within ten good hard hits..it won't damage anything and it'll work I promise you ....but I know your pain and also know the joy you felt when it come loose..lol some can be ridiculous to get open and mindboggling as to what's holding them there after you've cut everything that could be holding them off..lol

My passenger side rear door opens fine even with a little bit of rust but the Dr side will not let go at the bottom enough with the door panel in place to open the door, but I kinda think I can get it moved slightly up and I could open the door because it seems only the bottom of my rockers are rusty lol. Where are you at in the states Scotty sir?!

took me an hour to get the door off a donor truck meanwhile the doors in my own truck open fine but you can see right through them the rust holes are so big lol i found pry it from inside and cut the back side of latch attached to truck and just buy a new latch if need be though i didnt for donor truck

this one is rusted with holes. Runs great but It's definitely a backup truck.

Exactly what I ended up doing on my 01 on the driver's side. Going to replace the passenger side at the same time before it ever gets this bad.

passenger side is going bad on my main plow truck too- junkyard doesn't have any to replace them with. They're all bad

Exactly what I was looking for! I was planning on cutting through the striker as the bottom of one door is gone and it's easy to get to. I chopped a set of strikers off rockers in the junkyard, and grabbed a mangled door with a decent bottom half. At least the top half isn't rusty... i.imgur.com/q8ByzvK.jpg
