Great video man. Thanks for sharing. It's definitely hard to get the wires out of the harness and the blower motor plug. I just used terminal wire connectors to splice the new sub assembly together to the old harness.

How the balls do you unlock the harness for the yellow cable
@DavisAutomotive1
@DavisAutomotive1 4 жыл бұрын
After you pop the white locking mechanism back look into the socket where the white locking mechanism was removed and you will see a plastic tab that you can depress and the wire will release. Take a paperclip and straighten it and try using it.

As helpful as this review is, he seems to conveniently skip over the hardest and most time consuming parts, which are at 8:17 removing the plastic pin from the harness (took me almost 3 hours to get it out), and now the harness that connects the blue and red cable that i am now having problems with. this is not a quick job and i would recommend just slicing and crimping the cables (wish i had done that instead). Royce thanks for this very helpful review as i wanted to do it the right way, but a small disclaimer in the video or the notes should be put in place.

This is such an awesome tutorial!! I took my car to Pep Boys and they told me I needed a new Blower Motor and Resistor. The labor alone was going to be $400! I just didn't have it and I live in AZ, so it had to be fixed. I came home, found this video online and decided I could don't it myself!! My family thought I had lost my mind, as all I've ever done is put gas in my car and drive it (and I'm a woman). Well, I got the parts yesterday and did the repairs this morning!! The video was incredibly easy to follow. It took me 1 hour, 45 minutes. It would have taken considerably less time, had I not had problems getting both wires to release from the connectors. Still, it was more than worth it to save $400!! Thanks for such a thorough video! I'm back in business, just in time for the heat!!

save time and effort and simply splice new connector for blower right at the business end...butt connect and shrink wrap or use heat shrink butt connectors which work really nice...nice video anyhow for those who wish to take the scenic route..

at 8:16, once the white locking clip is released, how do you go about releasing the yellow wire that is locked in?
@DavisAutomotive1
@DavisAutomotive1 9 жыл бұрын
Frank Preciado you can take a pick or small screwdriver and stick it in the pin hole to release a little tab that is holding the wire connector end. you must lift the tab up away from the wire connector to release it.

@DavisAutomotive1
@DavisAutomotive1 9 жыл бұрын
+Ian Mastrangelo Hi Ian, if you look from the wire side of the connector, on one side of the wire terminal end you should see (part of the plastic connector) a little finger that has a barb which locks into the terminal end of the wire. Take a pick and push it away from the metal terminal end and this should release the wire. Do not pull the wire until you release this tab/finger... I will try to get a diagram linked

Hey brother, have you released the white locking clip?
@DavisAutomotive1
@DavisAutomotive1 10 жыл бұрын
If not just stick a flat blade screw driver in at the big exposed part of the white clip and work it gently. It should pop loose. Then you can release the little brown locking tab inside with a pick.
@joseflorendo7637

DavisAutomotive Try to release the white locking clip with small flat screwdriver it just won't come off and actually broke the white part looks like its glued I disconnect few of connectors before easily but this one is tough one but any way I just might have to cut the old white wire from the bottom the cut the new white harness with the connector and solder it, New blue wire is good no problem connecting it actually the blue wire is the one got fried so the white is good.

Had a terrible time getting yellow wire out. Went to Acura got my sub harness. Replaced it but did not replace the others. It cranked blew air for a bit. Took apart blower motor cleaned it out / does have more of grey spot around terminal doesn’t look totally blown. After replacing exactly like you said and cabin filters as well car won’t crank. Did it drain battery or do I need to replace the transistor. ??

Royce Davis AAA just came out. Only thing I have replaced is the sub-harness. I plan on replacing those other parts. Now having said that a new battery was installed yesterday. Drove today ( stopping and starting vehicle at various places ) When AAA came it’s the alternator. The weird thing is when you turn on the head lights the glove box light comes on. Never even knew I had a glove box light until I took the dash apart. .. weird. My question is would the alternator have anything to do w this changing of the subharness. I just disconnected the new harness at the plugs where the blower motor and resistor is.

I'm having a hard time pulling the red and blue wire out. I just yank it out as hard as I can?
@DavisAutomotive1
@DavisAutomotive1 9 жыл бұрын
+Indie Guy No, there is a locking tab that holds it in. Shine a light in there and use a pick, awl, or a tiny flat blade screw driver might work. Then pry it away from the wire connector. It might help to push the wire in rather than pull it when trying to release the tab. Once you get it to pry away, just hold it and pull the wire out. I hope this helps. I need to do an update and add in all the parts that people have asked about. Sorry for not including that brother.

The blower motor is fine it kicks on and blows air when i turn my headlights or driving lights on but until I turn my headlights off it will run none of the climate control buttons or knobs do anything it automatically blows air out the same temp at the same speed. and the radio display doesnt come on the radio button lights will flicker sometimes but radio doesnt work.
