Oil is in the turbo and intercooler pipes because of the crankcase vent, no?
@CountryMileGarage9 ай бұрын
That is possible but always double check the turbo and make sure it is still good. In my experience with excessive oil it's the turbo ... thank you for watching

So the v-clamp that goes from the turbo to the y-pipe is there a gasket there or is it just held together with the v-clamp? I've acquired an exhaust leak right there
@CountryMileGarage10 ай бұрын
No gasket its clamped with the V clamp. But if you haven't taken it apart in a while or ever it's most likely one of the up pipes at the back is rusted and leaking as they are getting older it's a more common problem. Hope this helps and thank you for watching
@chaddoeseverything965010 ай бұрын
Yeah I haven't dove into it just looking around with a flash light and the only place that is black for exhaust is at that clamp
@CountryMileGarage10 ай бұрын
@@chaddoeseverything9650 did you just buy the truck or did you turbo work to it as of late ?
@CountryMileGarage10 ай бұрын
@@chaddoeseverything9650 reason I ask because they can be a bear to line up right and people think you can "push" into place with the V-clamp but you can't. The up pipes need to "slip" into the turbo exhaust housing and then clamp it. Hope it makes sense what I'm trying to explain

I've had the truck for 8 years and the exhaust smell in the cab is getting too much

How to get the back clamp to let go of
@CountryMileGarage9 ай бұрын
Best and easiest way is with a air hammer and hit the turbo housing close to the clamp and give it a short burst it'll pop loose. But lots of people don't have a air hammer then do it with a pry bar and a hammer like I explained in the video. Hope this helps and thank you for watching
