Let me just say again, this is my personal thoughts on the matter, I’m 100% sure that there is better ways to play it via meta but I want to focus on more of an Infantry based force for 9th, hope it helps 😃👍🏻

Brother, I think you require even more Intercessors to reinforce the position. My Chapter and our allied Chapters offer another 4000 Intercessors to your cause. "Only in death does duty end"

After being a little more focused on meta and competitive play a few years ago, nowadays, I feel a lot more satisfied with friendly games and representing the lore of something on the tabletop. Not to say that anyone who plays that way is wrong, everyone is entitled to play how they like. But I've grown tired of meta and rules as of late, simply because they always change and I don't get as much enjoyment out of religiously sticking to them. I've come to prefer making things as accurate to the lore as possible, both in paint scheme and in gameplay. Like, I'll play my Iron Hands way different to my Black Templers for more than just the obvious rules difference. Or, I'll avoid taking chapter masters in those armies because there's no real way to represent their respective chapter masters well lore-wise. The same goes for chaos, little to no possessed in my Iron Warriors, but lots of obliterators and daemon engines. Even if the rules for those sub-factions are considered not as good, I still like to play them because of authenticity. I'm just more a lore nerd than a rules one. XD

Agreed. After 30 years, I prefer friendly games. I’m pretty much done with tournaments. I’ll play in local ones to help out my FLGS, but that’s it. I also prefer to run more fun and fluffy lists than meta based optimized lists. Especially when a rule can be interpreted a certain way to break the lore of a unit. Like White Scars being great with Dreadnoughts and digging in, Blood Angels having a RAW rule that make them the best gun line in the game, Ultramarines being the best with Flamers because of a stratagem...I’d rather play them they way they are supposed to be played.

in big games my strategy would be to drop hammerfalls onto objectives get a big force of intercessors with a couple agressors to the mid board, use outriders to get the opponents objectives tanks and heavy intercessors for the back objectives and bladeguard and assault intercessors in strategic reserve to reinforce or counter anything big or any ambushes or shenanigens the enemy uses

I bought a Repulsor when they first came out, but have since chopped it up for conversion parts- now every time I see the Executioner version, I like it a little more. That big gun and turret on top just make it look so much cooler. I just gave all of my Primaris models (all the Marines from the Dark Imperium box, 10 Reivers, 3 Agressors, Redemptor Dreadnought, Apothecary, Librarian, and the original Chaplain) to my son-in-law, because I’m only focused on 30K and I have no use for them. I had just started painting after years of only reading the books/codices/lore, and I got caught up in the hype of something brand-new, so I ran out and bought the stuff as soon as it was released. Over time though, I realized that the Heresy was the part I enjoyed the most, so decided to stick specifically to era-appropriate armour and wargear. I do have to admit, I like the Intercessor armour, and a lot of the models look pretty cool. Some... not so much. Just not my thing. All that said, however, when I see your Last Wall force, it’s tempting to get some Primaris stuff again- you’ve really painted them beautifully. Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to tell you what an awesome job you’ve done on them. Thanks for the video, and I hope that you and your family stay safe and healthy.

That’s the #1 reason why I never started an Imperial Fists army- that damned yellow! Same problem with the White Scars, just substitute white. Do you use an airbrush? I’m not sure, but that’s probably a good way to paint yellow or white without it getting chunky- good luck!

I think of my bolt weapons having bs 2+, so everything bolter is slightly better. Add the fact it's all about obsec, I'll field a lot of (heavy) Intercessors. Put 10-20 in a big block at the centre for board control with a captain, apothecary, scriptor. Eradicators and Invader ATVs against tanks and the latter to grab objectives. Supplement with 5 man Intercessors in Impulsors with bolt rifles for forward objecitves and stalker bolter ones for back objectives. Fill with a counterpunch (I'll be trying out 10 asssault Intercessors with chaplain and chapter champion for 7" rerollable charge out of reserve followed by double-fighting with obsec) I'm sure there are better configurations, but that's what I'll start with :)

I'm back playing 40K again after a few years break, this has been good to wrap my head around what's changed since I left the game. More interested in playing a themed army, I know many don't like the Firestrike Servo-Turrets but I do like them and in that first turn with Legacy of Dorn lay waste to your foes. It seems to me like 9th is about movement so they can be awful, but placed near/ on an objective it's hard for your opponent to take it. Happy to hear any suggestions for a more themed army. Also any videos for converting/ kitbash a Captain/ Chapter Master would be appreciated. 🔥

Aggressors have _not_ lost the ability to Advance and shoot. Auto Boltstorm Gauntlets are Assault weapons. They simply can't do it without the standard -1 for firing while Advancing. Seems to be a common, but unfounded misconception.

Hello Guys: I'm interested in getting into the hobby, and Imperial Fists are one of the chapters i like lorewise I was planning on doing a list of sorts (also ultra new on armybuilding) But Here it goes: (Also i know that i need an HQ and a General, but open to options) *10 Terminators (dunno what to do with them, but i feel that i need a 2x5 squads for close combat, maybe claws?) *40 Intercessors (All with bolters/heavy bolters) *Dreadnought (Heavy long range firepower and a claw/flamer for short distances) *Tank (Land Rider i think it's called? The one that costs 470) (To shoot stuff far away from bolters) Intended to be a 2000 Point army

have you ever considered using a unit or two of incursors, since they can be inrange of the enemy from turn one, ignore all cover and BS modifiers and have -1 ap in combat?

I'd say the infiltrators are better than incursors for snagging objectives as they have the bubble that stops people deploying close to them. At least for Imperial Fists. They get ignore cover from the chapter tactic still and auto wound on 6s. Losing the melee weapons is a shame though.

@@DT-ce1fb they only ignore light cover with the IF chapter tactic, incursors are also only 1 ppm more then intercessors, but can definitely see the benifit of infiltrators as well, deploy a squad of each on one flank and not sure who will shift them

I'm planning on running Celestial lions (imperial fist successor). I wanted to use the two chapter tactics of +1 to hit on charge, and can fall back and charge. I want to use mainly first born marines since they haven't gotten the primaris reinforcements yet in the lore. I've been playing with the idea of an iron clad dread with hurricane bolter/seismic hammer. gets to hit on 3s on a charge and can benefit from bolter buffs that imperial fists give on the hurricane bolter. Any tips for this edition with that in mind?

I'm just getting into 40k and got myself the Indomitus box set. I know all the units are depicted as Ultramarines in this set but, would it be fine to make them all Imperial Fists? Not sure if some of the units are intended only for Ultramarines as I have no real knowledge about the differences in Space Marine factions with units used and what not.

They aren’t available yet, but as the name suggests they are slower-moving intercessors with bigger weapons and heavier armour. The lore says there is no such thing as Primaris Terminators, so these are the modern replacement.
