Interesting how the beretta gets such lower velocities than you'd think. I was trying to remember where I'd seen this happen the other day. It was on your channel in a previous video probably. I know my old 92 shoots softer than most. This certainly proves something.
@BuffRANGE6 жыл бұрын
Yep, and I know the polygonal rifling in the Factory G19 barrel with help with velocity, but even when I used an aftermarket 4.5" barrel with normal rifling it still exceeded the A3's velocities.

I think it's rifling type and depth, polygonal rifled barrels provide higher velocities than traditional rifling

Just got back from the range, first time shooting this ammo. Purchased 300 rounds of 9mm 124 grain FMJ and only shot 200. Out of the 200, had over 25 misfires. 27 to be exact. Got so annoyed I didn't finish my range session. Every single primer had been struck but didn't fire. Shot from a stock Glock 26 and 19. Needless to say I will not be purchasing this ammo again.

Thanks for the information. Ammo is hard to come by these days. I picked some of this ammo up and was curious if they were even worth buying. I hear the ammo is really dirty compared to other brands. Have you noticed while you was cleaning your weapons if they were more dirty than others?
@BuffRANGE2 жыл бұрын
I'll be dead honest. I rarely clean these guns I use for range testing. SO I can't comment per say on the cleanliness of ammo.
@no.step.on.snek.24232 жыл бұрын
I can.. you can shoot 500 rounds of this stuff, and itll be cleaner than if you shot 50 rounds of winchester white box ... Its stout for 9mm in my xds.. and i chronoed them at 1210-1250 in my stock glock 17 gen 5, and 1050-1080 out my stock xds mod 2.. 3.3 inch barrel.

@@surfsunsand No Problem! for defense you're looking for a "JHP" or "Hollowpoint" depending on barrel length, some weights are better than others. With 9mm, I really prefer 124gr or 147gr JHPs. If the barrel is under 4" I tend to go with the 124gr. Federal HST, or Speer Gold Dot are always too very good performing rounds

I carry an XD-9 subcompact and usually shoot 115 grain fiocchi FMJ what would be the difference If i upped it to the 124 grain FMJ?
@BuffRANGE5 жыл бұрын
Possibly slightly more felt recoil.
@lukesmith9812 жыл бұрын
You get more control, but not a big difference. Both similar and feel the same. I’d go for 124 grain NATO rounds for SHTF/Combat.

I have never seen anyone yell out the velocity for each round fired, can someone tell me why this could be important instead of the average from the particular firearm?
@BuffRANGE3 жыл бұрын
Sorry it was habit from awhile ago when I wasn’t recording the chrono, and it was a way for me to ensure time had passed for the next shot. My newest videos I don’t.
@mikehunt49472 жыл бұрын
Paul Harrell announces velocity after every shot which I like. If out of 5 shots from say the 115 grain 9mm all you're given is "Avg Velocity 1020" that's only half the story As each shot is fired I listen to the report.. If one sounds quieter, then is that just my hearing or is the velocity less ? If the other rounds sound about the same and record about 1120 fps, and the quiet one records 910, that tells me something: The ammo isn't loaded consistently and THAT will definitely affect accuracy. Keep up the good work, enjoy your videos.

What's the difference between the 9mm 115g FMJ and the 9mm 124g FMJTC??

This is a "round nose" while the FMJTC is a flat nose tuncated cone. and the 124gr is 9gr heavier :D
