Very interested in its performance in ballistic gel. Considering it is led in cased in a thin polymer material I wonder if it would retain or massively ‘blob’ out in the gel leaving a massive cavity. Yes Federal has the self defense ammunition similar in that it’s case is polymer, but it has a different structure and deployment of its contents over the Syntech training ammunition. By the way, you would be the first on KZbin to do this thus far and by extension generate massive views from the testing.

Thanks for the video. I got two boxes of this today, as it was the only 9mm ammo I’ve seen for sale in quite some time. Seemed like an odd weight, and I wasn’t exactly sure how it would work through each barrel length. Question answered!

I just noticed today at the local gun shop a good supply of Syntech Action Pistol 150 gr, both in 50 round boxes and 500-round bulk packs. Same price for each right now, 50 cents per round. I bought a box of 50 to try at the range in my new Shield Plus. So far that pistol has been 100% reliable, but that's with 200 rounds of a mix of whatever I could find in December 2021, ranging from 108 gr Norma MHP through four kinds of 124 gr FMJ, and a box of Syntech 115 gr range ammo. No heavier rounds were available locally last month, but now I'm seeing an increase in supply, variety of bullet weights and loads from standard pressure through +P+, and prices are oh-kay.

Maybe if you can't get quality JHP. Pistol rounds work by maximum tearing and crushing. A FMJ that zips through you without sharp edges isn't advantageous in that instance.

Above ammo seems to fire well enough from a variety of firearms. I wish the results were more conclusive. I have a few boxes of it, acquired during the ammo shortage. This is my new all-around ammo. I found it on sale and decided to check it out. Good for practice as well as for defense. With a softer lead it’s gonna break up inside if it hits a bone plus there’s less likelihood of over penetration based on the weight and FPS. As well as having a flat top should provide better stopping ability.

Just shot the first couple magazines through my Ruger Security 9. Happy to have the 150 grain bullet. As this is my last Defence black bear and mountain lion gun. I would check that Chronograph calibration. Those rounds you were shooting out of the 16"'er were supersonic, no mistaking that crack. Especially when you had the suppressor on it, the report was quite obvious. Of course where you put the microphone can make a difference but watch this guy and his suppressed 16" Ruger PC9... kzbin.info/www/bejne/maTQnHmNfLOfrLs No report at all. Sounds like a pellet gun!

It's pretty close. They were not super. 1130 fps ish and very close to it at my elevation is supersonic. What you're hearing is more of the actual gun shot and report because my mic will handle sounds of up to 140 DB, before cutting audio. Not a lot of mics can do that, and at certain point they cut the audio, so gunshots sound way quieter on film then they really are.
