they probably wont skyrocket anyways because the tunes are likely setup for a truck that has what is done to his so its not gonna be dumping fuel like crazy into it anyways. Plus the biggest benefit of running it all the way up is that your boost scaling and fuel duration and timing scale are bumped up much more aggressively which allows for more low end fueling which can be controlled with your foot.

Mr.Rocketmail Probably for a good reason. Might be a different build or the money was right. Some guys that wreck trucks need a roller ASAP and will pay big for a decent start build already. His truck needs an engine and an axle which is not that much overall as the rest is complete and certified for racing. That takes the longest. I watched a few guys that wrecked their rides just pull the compenets and slap them into the next race body. Good to go. Like DFR with his crashed red rocket and ghost old drag car.

My old 2014, 3500 Ram, Aisin, with the 3:42s got 8mpg towing the 16k lb toy hauler. Towed like a locomotive. Could pull any hill on the PA turnpike as fast as I wanted. Installed a 60 gallon transfer tank so I could drive all day. You did OK on mileage. Get a transfer tank, you won't regret it.

Greg, I just ordered a new truck identical to your dually. I opted for the 3.73 rear dif instead of the 4.10 worrying rpms would be to high at 70-75. Curious what your running at those speeds

I have 2015 2500 with the same tune and 4" exhaust and intake done. I tow a 24" trailer weighing in around 7k to 8k lbs loaded. I'm getting about 11mpg to 14mpg depending the highway. I do about 1k to 2k miles a week. Love my truck too! I have the tune on 2. I'm worried about my trans blowing up. 68rfe issue...

My 2018 3500 dually with aisin and 4.10s stock wheels and tires after about 15k miles I notices my towing mpgs went up a hair we cruise at 60-65mph though and get between 10-12 with our 36' 12klb trailer

My LBZ with a 65vgt and my 07 stock Cummins both get around 9-10 mpg towing similar weight. Sucks but I can’t say I don’t have fun when I’m towing with both trucks. 😁

Yeah your fuel mileage is about rite i have the same set up as of 4:10 an deleted i tow about 32k when i load up the trailer an toys . I put a 100G tank/combo in my truck an i can get from Casa Grande AZ to odessa Tx with out any problem with about 20G to spare.

Do you have an egt gauge in the truck? I know I’m sounding like the normal computer mech but if you have something to monitor egts I would put it in a higher tune and try that. Usually that helps a good couple numbers but might also be because your towing an air block lol. Anyways great video except the huge cuff hanger lol!

Hand calculated is almost ALWAYS gonna be lower lol. I actually thought about getting a single axle day cab as a daily driver...they can pull virtually anything you put behind it and bobtail you can get an upwards of 11-13 mpg...usually between 4-7 but that’s also pulling 40k+...

Please tell us what mpg you get loaded. My 2011 3500 SRW gets exactly the same mpg (9 😣) loaded or empty when I pull my 18' enclosed bumper pull. Seems like just dragging the cube sucks the fuel and the old Cummins doesn't care if you happen to throw another 5,000 lbs at it. 310,000 miles on my truck...everything is stock except the parts that fell off in Mexico and a 60 horse EFI Live tune. Runs better than new!

Greg on the bigger tank thing. I'm sure you have heard of titan tanks nit only di they make bigger factory replacements but also make ones that go in the spare tire area. If you do their full system you can hold like 200 gallons

you did calculate the fuel mileage correctly but seen a few other good points in the comments about bigger tires. you should gps your miles and also note that you have a larger contact patch now. i recently did a tuner on my diesel and the computer went up and mileage went down because your shooting more fuel than the truck realizes. you have a sweet set up and no way to calculate smiles per gallon.. keep on rollin man!

Greg, wipe your window shield down with rain-x, and use rain-x washer fuild, it will help tons with rain. It won't be like sheets of water, it will bead up and roll off. If you do both the spray treatment and the washer fuild, i use it on my truck my dad uses on all 4 of his vechiles and it has saved my ass multiple times in a big storm

You should get a secondary tank that sits in the bed plumed into the filler neck and when the main gets empty just pull over and flip the valve to fill it as your driving

Buddy of mine has a fuel tank that doesn't stick up over the bed plumbed right into his under bed tank via a dash mounted switch re fills going down the road no stops needed

My understanding is we have 32 gallon tanks but they forgot to change the programming from 27 to 32 gallons. So on empty you still have 5 gallons left. Double check your build sheet to confirm you have the 32 gallon tank.

i find when i tow heavy i find running my programmer on a high setting and being easy and constant on the throttle as well as staying at or below 60mph will net me 14-16mpg on a 20-10Klbs load. if i run lower settings my boost and rpm are higher than if i run higher fueling. mine is a 99 5.9 compound turbo.

That's a pretty tiny gas tank for a truck like that. My 5.3 Silverado had a 26 gallon fuel tank in it and I was actually shocked when I could go 400 miles on a single tank. Definitely when not towing haha

rich 570 the drag trucks the 05. He ripped the other one a part to build into a full blown drag truck but his 05 was running 10s without being stripped apart so if he goes insane again on that build again it'll be there. And nobody knows what's going on with the 1st gen, I feel like that might become the dedicated drag truck.

Greg, you need to check out the vent kit from glacier diesel. I bet you have a 36 gallon tank but it would take you 45 min to fill all the way up. Look into it. My 3rd gen, like your 05 has a 36 gallon tank. No way your long bed has a smaller tank
