The Celtics & Heat have built up quite the history in the past 13 years, with no clear end in sight.
In this video, I examine all the moments that have built this match up so far, as I believe it's fairly underrated.

I'm a Heat fan and born in the late 90s, so I never experienced the Knicks-Heat days. To me, the Celtics have always been the team I hate the most and also the biggest challenge in the East. We had battles with Detroit, Chicago, Indiana but the Celtics have always remained the consistently great team in the conference. It's why the Heat-Celtics playoff matchups have always resulted in that year's NBA Finals team. You gotta give credit to franchises that always manage to stay on top, and when they are rebuilding don't tank and don't stay down for long. Ofc Miami has won 3 titles to Boston's 1...

This has been THE rivalry of my entire sports fandom. I hate the Celtics, but it's out of respect. Whenever my Heat beats Boston, it feels good because the games we play vs them are always hard fought. People always talk about Celtics Lakers, but Heat Celtics is the modern best rivalry in the NBA

"I hate the Celtics, but it's out of respect." Is the PERFECT way to describe our rivalry, as a Celtics fan I think that's spot on. Even with the Lakers it's hard to view them as modern rivals because we've rarely been great at the same time.

That 2023 series had me hyped for the Heat those first three games, wondering if I should start wearing paper bags over my face the next three, and then simply relieved we didn’t embarrass ourselves on a Biblical scale after Game 7. No team I respect and other times loathe more than Boston.

In my opinion the best modern rivalry in the NBA. Theres just so much depth and complexity to it. Its definitely one that gets deeper and deeper the more you look into it and being a Celtics fan, its just that much more prevelent. Always a little sweeter when we beat the Heat, and always a little extra bitter when we dont. Awesome video, and this wasnt even covering all the off the court drama and things that were said by (mostly Paul lol) but KG, Wade, Lebron has said some things, Ray Allen situation and everything thats been said by members of these two teams since retirement.

I gotta say when it comes to sports there’s not much shit more motivating than LeBron’s game 6 performance. There’s never been an NBA player under more pressure in my life than LeBron in that game. Like his whole career looked like it was building up a legacy defining failure; everything the dude had spent his life working towards up to that point appeared to be ending in total embarrassment (and this was at the height of the Heatles hate when the majority of NBA fans were chomping at the bit to see him fail). The point is if he can go out there and have the best moment of his career under all that weight and pressure then I can go out and there and do some mundane bullshit I’m scared of too
@deadprecidents
@deadprecidents 9 ай бұрын
Definitely the highest pressure performance in terms of legacy ever. No one has ever been propped up to challenge Jordan (and Jordan didn’t have the pressure of being the GOAT when he started). He would have an 0-2 finals record, and 2 years with the heat that he left the Cavs (and was scorned for as a hometown hero) to accomplish nothing. DWade started declining shortly after. It’s very conceivable that they don’t beat the 13 spurs without this first championship. It’s just how he did it though, not only was it an insanely efficient and completely dominating all time playoff performance, but he just coldly knocked down jump shot after jump shot and vicious dunks. It’s just demoralizing.

First of all, nice video. i am old enough to remember the Knicks-Heat rivalry of the 90's. It was more intense than the one with the Celtics, with all series decided to the last game, but the one with Boston has lasted more years. I am not a Heat fan (i like the knicks), but i wanred them to win the title this year, because of the heart they showed during the playoffs and because they crashed the bucks in the first round. I respect them as a team and i hope they will land Lillard and win the title next year. Pat Riley, the greatest basketball feature in the NBA, has created something special in South Beach and Jimmy is an old school dog, who i admire.I want another conference finals against Boaton, because this year's series were hilarious!

Idk if it’s just me but jimmys performances really remind me of Lebron he dropped 46 in a game 6 against the Celtics just like Lebron did

Fun fact over the past 5 years the team that has beaten the bucks proceeded to go to the nba finals and only one of those teams beat the bucks in the conference finals

I really don’t see these teams as rivals , yes the Celtics are deeper and yes the heat are up 4-2 on the series ,but history can change even if they do see each other again in the conference finals and hopefully ( praying) a first round matchup as titans it’s just a strong rival for both teams
