Looks like a good rental for a local Filipino. If you are coming from America, Canada, UK or Australia and $175 is all you can afford to rent in the Phil's it's probably best just to stay where you live and collect public assistance. No reason to come to the Phil's if you have very little money. If you end up broke in the Phil's there is no public assistance to help you. If you are broke at least you can qualify for federal or state welfare, free food at food banks and medical care. At least that's the way it works here in California and I assume in all the other states.

@@MichaelHawk1936 You Have a good point about the Filipina. That is a nice bonus in the Phil's. That being said I wouldn't recommend any one living in the Phil's unless they had some kind of steady monthly income like pension or social security. Last thing you want to do is get stuck in Phil's with no money. It happened to a friend of mine and he had it very rough, basically living on the streets. I got him back to the US and he's on public assistance and has a place to live and food to eat.

It's a perfect dorm for anyone! You could use it for when you first arrive, stay rfor 3 months while checking other things, save money for other things like a scooter, needed furniture and traveling to see where you want to settle in. At that price I could hire a housemaid or groundskeeper and house them there if I live nearby , have a smaller place or enjoy my privacy. Even as a second place if I live elsewhere; it's very useful.

When I went through my Divorce I let the wife of 13 years keep the house and our 3 kids. My oldest at 14 came to live with me one year later, Once she figured she and her boyfriend couldn't deal with him doing whatever he wanted an not following the rules they tried to set down. I turned around and bought a duplex too lived in one unit and rented the other unit. As it turned out I lived in one unit my 15 year old son lived in the other. My son had to grow up an act like an adult at 15. I told him he could have his own place but I am right next door so several meals a week we would be together. As long as he wasn't getting into alcohol and drugs he would keep his own place. He was allowed on the weekends to have friends stay over never during the week especially when he was in school. Saying all this to say as a single man I didn't need alot of room and the best thing was I had my own space to have my friends over without my son having to put up with them and he could have his girlfriend over an not worry about me walking in on them, who he actually married after college 7 years later.

PERFECT apartment you rent for one of your LTR 'Main GFs' because you DON'T want her LIVING with you. If she 'abuses' the AC, whereas the electric bill's too high, I'd rig a 'disabling' switch to the AC, so it can ONLY be turned on when I'M there. 90% of these girls NEVER had AC, so that's NOT 'abuse'. I'd AT LEAST provide her a refrigerator & microwave & a couple QUALITY fans, which should cool 'adequatly enough' for sleeping soundly at night. $250-$300/mo 'allowance' should cover room/board/all utilities/food/personal hygeine & clothing + a 'little' for entertainment. Whatever's left SHE can $ent to her family (I DON'T want to KNOW about it, NOR be ASKED to $end $ to her family). I have issues with 'monogamy' whilst in the Philippines, so I CANNOT 'live' with a woman. A "Main GF" who 'doesn't ask questions' is IDEAL for me. I've set up 'arrangementships' like this in the Philippines before, which worked out well for both parties, me & the "Main GF". However I was MORE generou$, providing a 5000p apt & ~$500/mo 'allowan$e'. The MORE 'allowan$e', the LESS 'questions' she'll ask. It's WORTH the extra $200/mo NOT be be asked, BELIEVE ME!

Great video Steve! Can you do a separate video on the household electric? Those outlets look different and was wondering if you are using some things from the US you probably need some type of converter or something.
@ejtaylor7311 ай бұрын
I believe those outlets are for both U.S. and European plugs (European ones have 2 circular prongs, which are the circles on the outer most part), or 110V/220V combined and no adapter is needed. But more importantly is how the house was wired, if it's for both 110V/220V or just 220V, if it's 220V only then those outlets aren't practical and you'll still need a transformer. If it's both types you can just plug a U.S. electronic in with no adapter or transformer needed. If it's 220V ONLY you need a step down (220V to 110V) transformer to use U.S. electronics, in which case they could just put in the European style outlet to alleviate confusion and possible problems of plugging an electronic into an outlet it's not rated for. It's great that Steve actually showed the outlets, most don't, but checking what the house was wired for is definitely something you want to find out before plugging something in. Most newer electronics are made for 110V/220V and you just need an adapter (Those outlets shown can accept either U.S. or European plug and no adapter needed, again IF wired for both 110V/220V), but you have to look at the electronic to see its power rating. If it ONLY says 110V on it, you will need a step up transformer (110V to 220V) to plug it into a 220V outlet. Also remember the U.S. uses 60Hz and Europe uses 50Hz, if you plug a U.S. clock in, it won't keep time properly, unless your power plug shows it is 110V/220V, 50Hz/60Hz. One more thing to remember, if you do need to use a transformer, unplug it when not in use, they are constantly drawing electricity and your electric bill will be sky high.

@ejtaylor7311 ай бұрын
@@leonardmarlin4330 You should be ok with computers, most power supplies are 110V/220V and would just need an adapter depending on the outlet. Again be sure to check it though, although it'll be 110V/220V, some have a switch on it that you have to change depending on the voltage you're plugging it into, newer power supplies don't have that anymore, they automatically switch. But I agree, buying locally would alleviate the headaches and you're also supporting local businesses. I've lived in Germany for 14 years, all my electronics are 220V already, they all are also 110V/220V, so even less problems.
