You got me motivated. I'm 73 years old and started doing deadlifts. I'm at 275 pounds and I weight 170 pounds. Haven't started squats yet. Working on one thing at a time right now.

Great but squats will improve your deadlift even more and vice versa.

Watching you barely get out from under that bar on that missed lift makes me appreciate the "old school" Power Rack I train in - with 4 corner posts, high pins, and low bars! We will have none of that risk......

I’ve been a martial artist for 48 years, lean and mean, as it were. Nine years ago I was hit by a car while riding my motorcycle. My martial arts was pretty much done at that point. Depression and all that ensued, and so I decided to start lifting weights for my upper body. As I will likely require a knee replacement at some point, leg work is out of the question. I am also limited on my upper body weights as my left shoulder still bothers me a lot. I landed on my left side…so. In any event, you are an inspiring young lady to watch. For the record, I am 66 yrs old. I will stay fit till the end of days. It’s just in my nature. Congrats on your lift….keep charging!

Would you lift more weight by placing the bar lower on the back. Like how Coach Mark Rippitoe teaches?

Your squat form was beautiful. You have a really strong back as there was no good morning happening and no knee caving either. You might look into a stiffer belt for the heaving lifting sessions.

*MOM STRENGTH RULES* 💪👸 👏😎
@charlieroney10083 жыл бұрын
you easily could have pulled 375 on the deadlift depending on grip and width. I think the rule of thumb is 25 percent heavier than squats being possible. But its also a balance because you don't want to feel that the next day when you have mom things to do.

Hello! Thanks for the video! I have a question, why are you not doing weightlifting anymore?
@bda26723 жыл бұрын
Awesome video and congrats on the new PRs. I know you've been concentrating on core strength as you've stated in your recent videos post partum. Lord knows everyone can use more core strength. My question is why are you using a weight belt for lifts if your core is strong from concentrating on it? I'd like to hear your thoughts on core strength and weight belt usage.

What is it with neighbors and mowing the lawn? We have a 1 acre lot and in the summer it's a backyard paradise. We also have neighbors on each side of us who have lots that might be a quarter of an acre, yet, they both feel the need to spend hours mowing their lawns nearly every day. I can mow our lawn with a hand mower faster than they can mow their little lots with the riders and I do it half as frequently (and with a quiet electric mower). I think they must fantasize that they're Dale Earnhardt on those things and they can't wait to get out a twirl around their yards every day. Sorry.. Rant over.
