Very useful, I’m transitioning from weightlifting to powerlifting. I did your program in the past and I’m starting your powerlifting program. First day. Thanks for your help and important hints 😊

Love this. I have been deadlifting for 4. But this formalized so many things. Love this breakdown of one of my favorite lifts.

once you start deadlifting you become obsessed with technique...and actually seeing someone do it properly is worth pages of technical detail...and there's LOTS of good examples of "just doing it" in this which is great.

Your power lifting is excellent. Yes already i know deadlift technique. But I could understand your technique from your video. So I saw the variation lifting technique. Thanks you ! Your video is always useful. Have a good day !

I started using the hook grip after I got above two plates and I love it, feels really secure. I also pull in my squat shoes, so my form is a little different but not by much. The deadlift has improved my back health a lot and is by far my favorite. Thanks for your trio of videos, I might try high bar squatting since I want to hit the quads a bit more.

Thank you for the video, I use the mix grip for heavy deadlifts. I was glad to hear you say to switch the grip sometimes I have done this but always wondered if it was a good idea.
@Kris10Pope2 жыл бұрын
yeah! that will keep things a little more balanced. I still have my go-to dominant hand, but when it isn't a really heavy lift I like mixing it up

Would you recommend the hex/trap bar for beginners in the dead lift? The back rounding doesn't occur as much and the biggest issue, I found, was with ankle ligaments/tendons being strained. Great series.
@Kris10Pope2 жыл бұрын
yeah! they are just kind of hard to find. Most of the beginners I work with are starting out in commercial or home gyms. But that is a great exercise to learn to use the legs

Informative and you covered most things. Regarding pulling the slack out of the bar- not something you have to worry about if you're using a stiff bar, right Pope?💪

Hello K, i"m new to your videos , enjoy the content ! Question , have you ever heard of lifters who emphasize using their back more during the dead-lift? Basically ppl will go a bit wider in the grip, legs will almost be level perpendicular to the bar instead of tradition over the bar and you pull with your back while traps and back are locked. Similar to a Rack Pull ? Cheers

starting out with 5s is always a good mid range to work with. Check out my powerlifting program as well if you want some formal training - it is beginner friendly. dynamicpursuit.net

Why are you using mixed grip on such light weight?
@Kris10Pope3 жыл бұрын
I, personally, would use mixed grip with a men’s bar on any weight including my warmups. But mainly for technique demonstration

To get a perfect form like yours, one needs a lot of hours in the gym.
