As a real pilot I can tell you ONE other reason you have a -REC and a separate - T/R option on TACAN is than some stations do not have DME or distance measuring equipment. So you need that switch to track them. Many private aircraft have only VOR and others have both VOR/DME

I came here for the same reason, and found in other video that this mod (A4-E) doesnt have Y band TACAN, is limited to X band only, maybe in the future or not...

Hi. My BDHI compass doesn't move on the A-4. The TACAN doesn't come on either. Was this the case with the early version 1.4.0 model?..thanks

Can't seem to tune the supercarrier TACAN on 71X. Any ideas why? TACAN mode shows "off" on the navigation instrument with the switch in the center TACAN position. Set to T/R on the TACAN and definately got 71 tuned.

The mission maker needs to have set the TACAN channel on the carrier. It’s not always 71X

Oh and you can receive important weather info over some VOR stations
