I got to do this at a swim camp one time! I think I was around 9 or 10 at the time, and I will never forget when the guy came up to me after the end of the camp and told me that he could tell I have a passion for swimming and how talented I was. He told me never to lose that passion because with my talent and my passion, I would go far. Hearing that from an Olympic swimmer made my whole year.
@NetheriteBunny2 ай бұрын
Are you still passionate about swimming?
@swimfastky4136Ай бұрын
@@NetheriteBunny that is honestly a tough question to answer. I no longer swim, but the reason why is very complicated. I have a lot of health issues, and I always have, but they got a lot worse when I was around 11. My health really started to impact my swimming, and so swimming became very hard on me not only physically but mentally too. I hope I don’t sound cocky saying this, but it was really hard for me to go from being a really good swimmer to not being able to do a 50 fly without feeling like I was actually dying. In the end, it all got too much not only physically but mentally too and I stopped when I was 14. I would absolutely love to get back into it, but I don’t think I can. So, to answer your question, no, but if it wasn’t for my health I would without a doubt still be swimming and still be passionate about swimming. I loved swimming, I still do, but when I stopped swimming it was because the swimming I was doing was no longer the same swimming I fell in love with. And it also wasn’t just my health, either. It was the people. Because of my health, people, especially some coaches, started doubting me and my abilities and that was really hard for me, too. It made me feel like I wasn’t good enough anymore, and that was hard because no matter how hard I tried I felt like I could never be good enough ever again. One of my coaches really destroyed my confidence, and that also definitely had an impact on my swimming. He was no longer confident in my abilities, so I was no longer confident in my abilities, and because of that I was getting in my own head. I was too worried about him and about others that I was not only pushing myself way too far but I was just always trying to prove myself. But the worst part is that even when I proved myself, it didn’t matter. In swimming there’s different relays, A relays, B relays, C relays, etc. and A is the best then B then C and so on. I had always been in the A relay. And then I started being put in the B relay. But in the B relay I would swim faster than the kid in the A relay. He always said that whoever is the fastest gets the A relay. But that no longer applied to me. I would beat the kid in the A relay, but I would still be in the B relay. It got to the point where it felt like some sort of sick mind game. I didn’t feel good enough, and it all just got too much. So long story short, no I am no longer passionate about swimming, but I would be if it wasn’t for my health.

No, to these great swimmers, particularly for such a short distance of 50m or less, they could really finish swimming by holding their breaths while in the water. They're beyond our expectations. The little boys of course couldn't do it this way.
@hithere4289 Жыл бұрын
@@andylau638 I know I was in a team I did 50's no breath it was amazing but he did breathe every stroke to his right, you can tell by the way he slightly tilts his head right when his right arm was behind. by the way these guys do 20 seconds in a 50 no breath but this swimmer didnt go near his max he did 23 if he went no breath he would have done a lot less
