I thought the same thing, it's alllllll boost bro, and just making sure that the baby inline four can be stressed to all hell and still keep going. I can honestly say it ruined other cars for me. It's like the feeling you get in a plane on takeoff, that inner gut feeling, but times ten. Glad you liked the edit, it took me a bit to find a good way to replicate the actual feeling and it still does it no justice. Your Evo must be crazy fun though, enjoy that boost bro!

@@Altek1 Lol I thought of that too but he most likely was referring to one of his Evo 8/9s customers, 700 is a far cry to 950! Although I'm probably one of the highest hp 4b11 he's built and it's a full weight, street car with a T4 fast spooling turbo so it's a lot more streetable than his

I have a fully stock 2015 that I bought new with 16miles still has the original brakes at 103K I've had them off twice hoping they needed changing that's a testament to how I've driven the car. After watching this I'm about to ship it to him and say call me when it's done. All kidding aside I am secretly watching videos like this interviewing shops to build it.

My Subaru is back at his shop getting a turbo installed now, and I've never been so not worried about someone working on one of my cars. He'd make sure you had a reason to use those brakes more. Pretty much exactly what I mentioned when showing the engine, the block is solid, pistons and rods are strong as hell and it was all properly assembled. I guess you can say any engine can get to this power but handling the beating is another thing. Nobody wants to be the guy you saw on the side of the road since 50lbs of boost can knock a piston and rod clean through the engine haha.

My friend had an 03 I think, put some wicked pipes on it, dropped it a bit and slammed a supercharger in it. I recall he ended up destroying the motor from adding too much power but boy it looked awesome. Is yours stock or have you done work to it?

Race gas, if I'm not mistaken that's cut down to around 700 on regular gas, but he's literally put like 500 miles on it in a few years, it only sees race gas and the track.

I'm not well versed in Mivec but apparently there's some known issues with it when pushing a ton of hp, here's what I found on the good ol interwebs: "The catastrophic failures tied to MIVEC when upgrading the cams and valves springs has been a known issue for many years. Higher engine acceleration rates cause the PID of the camshaft control to be unable to operate within its limits. Adding larger turbo’s that spool up above 4500 RPM negate advantages of having MIVEC control. Deleting the MIVEC altogether gave us consistent camshaft control."
