On second thoughts , long time ago ,I remember my mother in law mentioning about preparing adai out of black urad dal and rice... Perhaps this is it....You do have a way of rekindling old memories.Thanks Sowmya.

Should we have to add ghee for every dosa

Acttually the dosa is deep fried in ghee. Most if the cast iron tawa is curved, then the ghee will stay in the center and we can cook atleast 2-3 dosa in 2 tbsp of ghee . More ghee adds more flavor. if we want we can replace with sesame oil. 😊🙏

Approximately how many dosas does this make? Your plate showed 3, but I know this batter would have made more. I don't want too many dosas, so wondering if I should halve the quantity. Going forward with your recipes, it would be useful, if you could include the approximate number of servings. Thank you.

Mam my neighbour was from nagarkoil they always prepare dosa in black urudhal so v followed their foot steps. Our dosa will be light brown colour nd yummy in sengoti kallu
