I said it in one of your previous videos and I'll say it again here (specially after acquiring my C400 to match my C70)... There is something about the C70 that the C400 does not have. I like the B cam colours and contrast way more than the A. Amazing video too!
@AlexanderJawfox5 күн бұрын
@@brunoshoes864 thank you. I agree. But I still love the c400. The crisp look of the footage is something I really like. But on the flip side I love the colors on c70 which makes me think I’ll keep the c70 over getting the c80.

I just had a pretty interesting experience with this setup, first and foremost, I didn't have big lights to work with and lots of back lit sunlight to contend with so not ideal with any cam. I put the c70 on the long lens, to get the details, limit it's framing to the overexposed backgrounds, and kept it around iso1200, clog 2, with 4 stops of ND on. But the primary shot was the c400 which was on a wide lens with heavy backlight. Here I upped the base iso and added ND to keep detail in my background, then flooded what little light I had into the subject for fill and one more bare light to add to a little shape. This worked surprisinly well, matching exposure on the face, but will need some shadow tweaks on the wide - no blow out, and still got tons of detail even in the darker areas. I could have avoided the headache with much bigger source but it's what I had to work with ;) The c70 is an great cam, it's gotten me through several years now, but it couldn't have done what the c400 just did without a lot more noise correction.

Hey Alexander! I really love your content and the way you capture everything so beautifully. I was wondering if you have any old cameras or gear that you’re not using anymore. I’m just starting out and it would mean a lot to me. Thanks for considering it! Keep up the amazing work!

@@RhysPopa-ks8xv ey thank you for the kind message. I don’t have much old gear. I always sell to get into the next item. I do have an old R5 but it’s nearing the end of its life I am afraid.

A-cam looks less contrasty and colourful, not sure if you were matching settings between the two but it looks a stop brighter than the B-Cam, so if the settings were equivalent, the full frame camera will be brighter. Nice production either way. The company name is unfortunate in my opinion but that's not your choice obviously.

Hi Alexander, quick question. Thanks for another C400 video! Quick question, do you pick up any fan noise from the C400 in your shotgun mic? I just got mine. The fan isn’t crazy loud but I hear a bit of fan noise and haven’t had a chance to throw a mic on it yet. Wondering what your experience has been with the mic. I’m assuming it’s all good but just curious.

Great job! Thanks for sharing. I think the C70 has better colors. The shots from the C400 might be due to a different codec or color grading.
@AlexanderJawfox5 күн бұрын
@@MEbada14 thanks. Yeah same luts and basic adjustments used. Just goes to show the difference. The c400 is very sharp and has better dynamic range obviously but c70 may win in colors and aesthetics of the image.

Great production, it’s hard to make a fair judgement on this because the C70 is using the best model lens 85mm 1.2 $3000 available besides the 135mm even though the 50mm 1.2 is supposed to be very similar, sorry you would need two 85mm lenses for us to make a fair comparison. It’s also interesting to see how both cameras handle 800 iso in that lighting situation. It’s not that the C70 is better, I think you might just need to change the settings in the C400 to bring down those highlights and add more contrast to give it a more colorful less faded punchier look
