it is a good supergirl origin story. kara has had many changes throughout her run. I always viewed her and clark as two sides of justice. Clark is the shield while kara is the sword.

I always just saw Kara as the Successor Type that Superman needed. Supergirl should be the Hero of Tomorrow that boys and girls look up to and that teenagers can relate to, similar to Robin’s role with Batman.

Kara "as the sword" is a complete waste of a superman (or girl) moniker. Just like how Superman's popularity is far beyond his power set (which you can find knock copies of EVERYWHERE). Kara's popularity is beyond her basic bitch badass girl personality (for which you can find knock copies of EVEYWHERE) If that's her personality, she's as interesting as tax forms.

Mid film, but it has one of, if not, the best Wonder Woman animated fight - like seriously her and Barda go off. Also, the Batman vs Darkside fight is one of my favorites. Darkside is using just enough force to really hurt Bats to break him physically, while Batman is fighting a battle of wits to force Darkside to Forswear Kara and it actually really captures that in the film.

When I was a kid, my grandmother bought me a reprint of a very old Superman annual, which included the Silver Age Kara's origin issue. I'd always loved the idea of kid/teen sidekicks and already related to the idea of being scared but determined to live up to a legacy. But this was the 90s, so it wasn't that easy for a kid who didn't live near a comic shop to get old silver age comics, and when I looked at modern DC comics, it wasn't the Kara from that story. I've had some conflicted thoughts on how they've handled supergirl. But I was so glad to get her back. So the trade of this comic will be a favorite for petty nostalgic reasons.

I've always loved the comic. It was one of the first ones I ever read at my local library. The art basically screams to adolescent boys to come read it. But I think I like the movie better for one reason and that is the Wonder Woman and Barda vs. the furies fight. Still one of the best fights I've ever seen

Maybe it's just because of the confrontation between Batman and Darkseid. And the final fight in Smallville but I have a real soft spot for this movie. And it really does make me sad that Andre Braugher is no longer with us. We won't be seeing Darkseid in the DCU any time soon. But when it does happen, I was always rooting for him to get cast one day in live action.

I was writing a couple of paragraphs as the review was going on and by your conclusion it was basically the same opinion. I watched/read this material long ago. Hit the cancel button to start over just to say much quicker I agree. One more disappointment I've had with these stories was how the Red Hood film stripped the Superman vs the radioactive monster in Bludhaven out. The story was going on at the same time in the comics in Batman/Superman. I bet if it ever made it to film they stripped all the great context out. I'd drop complaints, but I've fallen so far behind in the dcau catalogue I don't know if I should say anything. I mean to start catching up sometime soon. I'd like to know if it's done a turnaround and can fix my moody outlook.

I can't stand the way Kara was drawn in the mid-00s comics. Like had the artists ever seen what a girl looks like? Or, I don't know, a human being? Why was her torso SO long and thin and her legs and feet so little? I get she's an alien but geeze. She still had to pass as a human. But the flippy move that Kara pulls on Darkseid in the movie was pretty bad ass.

The Wonder Woman Bloodlines Movie was absolutely terrible and you praised that and thie Movie was far superior to that one and you're crapping on this one. Differences between the Comic and The Movie or not it was still a far better movie than Bloodlines which had the audacity to put a line like "The Purple Healing Ray" In it......Lord. Bloodlines had very VERY good fight scenes but that was truly all that it came down to. Meanwhile this movie had a balance if good characters, plot, dialogue, and AMAZING action! @Shift_Salt Aye, I've had a headache since earlier on today. Dual Action works wonders. You're 100% right. You're not telling me anything I don't already know. Everyone has thier own opinions. One thing we have to remember in this equation is that's exactly what they are, opinions. Opinions are Subjective not Objective, but there are Objective facts that people simply cannot ignore such as the tons of other videos of people who made videos about this movie who said exactly what I said.....only WAY harsher. The Movie is flawed it's a bad movie to me and a LOT of other people. If it's good to you and everyone else? Hey, more power to you, but that's not going to erase the problems that Bloodlines has or what I said. Apocalypse isn't a BLOCKBUSTER either by any means it has it's problems, but when comparing the two aforementioned films? One outweighs the other in terms of problems wether it be with the narrative, pacing, plot, characters, whatever. At the end of the day? There's a reason why more people remember Batman/Superman:Apocalypse over Wonder Woman: Bloodlines and it's not just because the former came out first it was because it gave us more to remember. Things that stuck with us when we watched it for the first time. Bloodlines does have charm to it. Something can be bad and still be entertaining. There are a LOT of movies out there that are worse than Bloodlines as well. At the end of the day? Like what you like. You have a good one bro.
