Three Men and a Baby is a 1987 American comedy film directed by Leonard Nimoy. It stars Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson as three bachelors as they attempt to adapt their lives to de facto fatherhood with the arrival of the love child of one of the men. The script was based on the 1985 French film Trois hommes et un couffin (Three Men and a Cradle).

We were speeding together
Down the dark avenues
But besides of the stardom
All we got was blues
But through all of that sorrow
We were riding high
And the truth of the matter is
I never let you go, let you go
We were scanning the cities
Rocking to pay the dues
But besides of the glamour
All we got was bruised
But through all of that sorrow
We were riding high
And the truth of the matter is
I never let you go, let you go
You go down just like Holy Mary
Mary on a, Mary on a cross
Not just another Bloody Mary
Mary on a, Mary on a cross
If you choose to run away with me
I will tickle you internally
And I see nothing wrong with that
We were searching for reasons
To play by the rules
But we quickly found
It was just for fools
Now through all of this sorrow
We'll be riding high
And the truth of the matter is
I never let you go, let you go
You go down just like Holy Mary
Mary on a, Mary on a cross
Not just another Bloody Mary
Mary on a, Mary on a
You go down just like Holy Mary
Mary on a, Mary on a cross
Your beauty never ever scared me
Mary on a, Mary on a cross
If you choose to run away with me
I will tickle you internally
And I see nothing wrong with that
Nothing wrong with that
(Mary on a, Mary on a cross)
Nothing wrong with that
(Mary on a, Mary on a cross)
(Mary on a) Mary on a cross

I think this cafeteria scene shows how, at least at this point in his timeline, this may be one of the most mentally-healthy version of Batman across all media. He's sitting down to lunch with a friend at work, playfully ribbing each other about their love lives. That's such a normal thing that is so atypical of Batman, which you don't get to see in most media. The League was really good for him in this incarnation.

The fandom's desire for slice of life moments with Batman that show he's okay is in frustrating opposition with DC's insistence of big fight scenes and constantly trying to preserve his badass noir cred. I will say there seem to be other relatively functional Batman's in official timelines. Batfleck seemed to be pretty together the the Justice League movie and Flash, which were rough movies but still hold he was doing alright. And of course Wayne Family Adventure's has a niche with Batman leaning into being the Dad of the adopted Batfamily. There's also the brave and the bold, the whole point of which was Batman enjoying crime-fighting and having good working relationships and friendships with other heros. Not disagreeing with you, but media where Bruce seems to be in an alright place is out there. And I think as fan demand continues and DC continues to fragment, we'll see more.

@@rvawildcardwolf2843 I think people just kinda need a depressed hero. there are many 'batman spinoffs' in and out of DC comics and many had much more optimism in them. But a charcter that was orignally batman but then got better is ... i actually dont know. is that a bruce wayne. a recovered batman. is that just a dead batman in a world that would never need heros again? end of the tale kinda thing. Become just a dude? (ha. the last page of dc ever to ever be published could just be The Batman openly laughing at his pal Superman unable to leap Wayne tower)

@@niceatsymbolethereyoutube I get what you're saying. But I don't think there's a true batman anymore. The character has been around almost a 100 years in so much media, so many continities, under so many writers. To me any Batman that's entertaining is legitimate, from the Adam West show to Frank Miller's comics. So if more comics show that Bruce becomes mentally healthier and develops more real meaningful relationships, I'll be all for it, because that's a story I want to see. But I'll still love broody emo Batman too when he's done well. My two favorite pieces of modern Batman media are Matt Reeves The Batman, and Wayne Family Adventures. There's room for both. I do love your idea for a theoretical last panel of DC. Batman and Superman, laughing about how it's time to ride off into the sunset.

@@rvawildcardwolf2843 Ah I just re-read my comment. I was a bit all over the place there. So a depressed hero Batman. I should have phrased that more... as a constant option for a new story with him in. Like the writers can ignore it. And also should ignore it, when this iteration of the bat just wouldn't work with too much overhanging sadness. And I do completely agree that there is no true Batman. He changes with the times, with each overarching story and well everything with a Bat, that has a different title I guess. Oh and I also really enjoy the flexibility he has. Keeps things novel and fresh each time. Always worth giving the weird and new stuff a go. If nothing else it's ripe for mocking in a few years when there is better stuff more to my tastes.

Honestly this is a friendship that never gets talked about. These characters both have a friendship with Batman, Flash and J'onn, but nobody really talks about these two together. They act as the most mature of the team but can act really immature at times. They have a mutual respect for each other and act casual along with being professional when the time needs.

Their friendship was always interesting, since in the beginning of the series they didn’t get along at all, because of Batman’s purposely cold personality. It says a lot that John was clearly able to bypass all of that and gain Bruce’s respect, and genuine friendship. Not many people can talk to him like that and even slightly make fun of him to his face and deep down Bruce enjoyed the friendship even if he was to scared to show it lol

I've always figured Batman respects people who aren't cowed by him (Shows they're a step above the superstitious cowardly lot) but also people who can take orders quickly. So Men with military backgrounds are probably the kind of guys who can get his respect and make it to the point he can forge real relationships with them. Which is funny because for all of Bruce's warrior training, he never served in a conventional military environment, and I don't think he would've done very well there.

Their interactions were underrated but appreciated by me. Bruce and John talking personal lives is unironically one of my favorite things about this episode and show in general. Always saw John and Bruce in JLU as the anti Bruce and Hal, where I believe these two have more in common than you’d think while Bruce and Hal pretty much dislike each other. John isn’t as stoic as Bruce, but he’s serious and determined. I think Bruce respects people like that. He admires Flash and Superman for being what he feel he can never be, and I think he respects John and J’onn for being closer to what he is. What a great cast.

Jon and Bruce work well together in this continuity because they are both more grounded characters at their core, and the writers have more freedom to work with this character constellation (because they both barely interacted in the JLA in the comics back when Jon was the main GL, so there was next to nothing they could draw from). I think this gave them an opportunity to show how normalcy and off-time in the JLA looks. It's like any cafeteria in an office or a school, funnily enough. People talk, and friends will gossip and edge each other a bit, plus, even more importantly, it allowed them to show these characters not just doing heroics. One thing I really missed in the JLA animated series was how we basically only got to see them in their capes, and not what they do in their off-time.

I believe the original plan for the comics was to show more and more evidence that beyond was indeed an alternate future but some felt if they confirmed that many fans would feel it devalues beyond. @7:20 And this! Is a underrated channel. Single handedly explaining so easily in words and details of why we love these characters, their stories, their triumphs, their loses, their dynamics. Was a fan of the early Spiderman videos. I felt so many have a self righteous and stagnant opinion of Spiderman and a complete misunderstanding of MCU Spiderman that it was refreshing to hear someone talk about the character in a way that made me love him all over again. I am not old at all. Only 25. But something about this channel brings back that child like love and whimsy back to the mind when the world at large tries to stomp it all out. Finally, someone is able to put into words of why I love super hero media even if at this itthe most frustrating thing imaginable...I still love it and have since I was a toddler. Thank you for existing as a channel and hope to continue to keep watching

Comparing GL and Batman's relationships with the women in their lives to the villain's relationship to the woman in his life is an interesting angle to take. The heroes drag their feet going after the women they care about while we can surmise that Chronos likely jumped too fast into a marriage with his wife, likely thinking she'd be the only one who'd have him. He acts very hasty so it's an easy bet that that's what happened. I suppose the message would be somewhere in the middle. Don't rush, but don't deny yourself the future you'd want either. Just allow things to take their course naturally.

IIRC, Batman's thoughts about Diana's disappearance was, she either wasn't born or never left her island. I think it was a random occurrence due to the space-time continuum disruptions caused by Chronos' recklessness. Don't think it was explicitly explained why she vanished. Time was all screwy and random changes were happening - even at one point John Stewart was temporarily replaced by Hal Jordan as the current Green Lantern Leaguer 😂
