As a Pittsburgher, this movie had so many fun things for me, especially as a child of the 90s. I watched a lot of Mr. Rogers back then. This movie felt like being thrown back in time to when I was a little kid. And I especially loved the first time they showed the Pittsburgh skyline done up like a Mr. Rogers neighborhood model. Seeing that just made me feel so giddy and excited.

My absolute favorite part of the movie though was when the characters had a moment of silence to think about the people in their life whom they loved and you could tell that everyone in the theater was doing the exact same thing. Absolutely incredible movie!

I was really impressed about how authentic this film was down to the locale and equipment. They even featured Mrs. Rogers and their kids during the Chinese restaurant scene! The movie was surprisingly interactive. It should be taught in film schools! Also whoever did the sound editing and cityscapes - they are geniuses. French hours are making a comeback apparently. The only other productions I can think of off the top of my head that do/did that practice are blackish, My Wife and Kids, and the Carmichael Show.

I loved the movie, it made me and my wife teary-eyed at the end of it, just like the show was. I was fortunate to have met the real Fred Rogers and he was a delight. I don't know if it was a handshake and saying, "Hi" to his face with his smile and saying "Hi" back or just sitting in the audience with other kids him speaking and bringing the other cast up to speak as well. It still was a delight to have him in my "neighborhood."
