Victoria was in the backround. She isn't special. Victoria is only a kitten in her first heat and so the connection between the curious kittens and the older cats. It is not important that she is the one to touch Grizabella but that noone holds her back!

It's still her big break and the publicity hasn't been against her performance - she carried the show and is the only one who can't be criticised or questioned as to why she agreed to do it! Now we all know who she is and her acting, vocals and dancing were beautiful performances. We'll definitely be seeing more of her and the offers will be pouring in. She was literally the only good thing about this film. 🤩

But using real cats wouldn't show much expressions. I watched the live action version of the Lions King and having realistic animals kind of ruined the movie. Or do the next best thing and broadcast the US network production. The time of people seeing movie musicals of actual musicals is over. Film it live on stage with an actual audience. It worked for Legally Blonde, Rocky Horror, RENT (the movie was terrible), Kinky Boots, Falsettos, Company, Shrek, The King and I, Miss Saigon, She Loves Me, Follies, Billy Elliot, Gypsy, Newsies....I know I'm missing a few. None of them are box office smashes but the people that care appreciate them, pass it down to their kids, etc. They become successful to the market that would actually pay to see it live if they could afford it or live close enough.
