I don't think Fred Rogers was religious either. I know he loved the Lord and he understood that there is evil in this world. Evil that can make people turn away from God's love and do sad, bad things that hurt others. So, he set out to show and tell about love; God's kind of love in every way he could. Hoping people would turn in the direction of love. The love Jesus has for them, the way we can love each other and the way we should love ourselves :)

I’m from Australia, so I never heard of Mr Rogers, but I watched this movie lastnight and it made me wish I grew up watching his show. He seemed to be just about the most nicest, caring, kind-hearted person, from what I’ve learnt about him and his show. And reached out to a lot of kids (and adults) in need, emotionally/mentally. Just like the movie shows, with the character of Lloyd. How to deal with his emotions in a good and positive way. Especially when it comes to anger. Sometimes holding on can be more harmful for ourselves, than letting go.

What I did discover, startlingly, was that of every childhood icon I'd ever looked into in detail, Fred's the only one where when I pulled back the layers, there was just more Fred behind the scenes. The man he portrayed on the screen was, apparently, just a direct reflection of him. He had a mission, and he pursued it, and in a way, I think he succeeded.

@jorgeantonioarreaga46745 жыл бұрын
@Curtis Tisberger So I've done the research and as the guy above mentions. You are full of bullshit. Mr. Rodger's kindess, empathy, sympathy and just love towards children was held with suspicion. But that was because they associated it with his middle name "McFeely". Sure if you didn't know that was his middle name, and you come across "Mister McFeely" deals with children, people will get the wrong idea. Also, I'm not sure you're even familiar with the song "Mr. Rodgers" by Korn Jonathan Winters. He basically calls out Mister Rodgers and calls him a "child fucker". However, due to him being influenced by Mr. Rodgers show, he thought everyone was as kind as he was and guess what? He ended up getting molested by a neighbor. So he wasn't necessarily blaming Mr. Rodgers, he just didn't know where to direct that pent up frustration and put it upon Mr. Rodgers. Aside from all that, I just came across "proof" of him teaching kids the middle finger, and all the videos and proof of him being a pedophile coincidentally don't happen to exists or have been "removed" by some unknown reason 🤔. They even went ahead and posted his Congress meet and titled it "Rodger's DEEP love for children". So, if something happens to be incorrect in my comment. Go ahead and correct it and prove me wrong. :)

It just felt that he knew what to say, when to say it, and how to say it with a gentle voice to let you know, hey it'll be okay. As I mentioned above he confronted bullies before the media even thought about it. He adored every child, regardless of how you looked, your intelligence level, your gender, or any disability. That was another thing Fred NEVER felt a child was disabled. He or she was special. He always let you know that. There will NEVER be another Fred Rogers ever. That's so sad because he brought so much love and respect to TV. That's what choked me up and made my eyes tear. He was one in a billion.

This movie brought me to tears and because it was so beautiful, it’s in my Top 10 favorite movies. There are people in my life who have made me angry and this movie taught me how to forgive them in a positive, non-violent way.

Mister Rogers should be mandatory viewing for everyone.

This is a masterpiece and an emotional roller coaster. I couldn't count the number of tears I shed while watching this. We see how bad we are as humans when we see who Mister Rogers was. Must see.

America’s Dad passes the torch. Fred Rogers’ decency, kindness and genuine compassion made him a truly great man. Who better to play him than Tom Hanks, who described himself as “a skinny spazzy kid…I empathized with outsiders because I was one”…
