The Will-o'-the-Wisps in the beginning of the movie were leading her back to her mom and dad cause Mor’du was trying to sneak up on her. If it wouldn’t have been for the will-o’-the-wisps leading her back to her mom and dad at the campsite, then she would have died there. "Fate be changed" - Call of the wedding = change Meridas fate "Mend the bond" - some quality bonding time betwenn mom and daughter to actually get to know each other "Torn by pride" - just forget your pride, accept that you messed up, and apologize! I'm not even gonna lie, when I first watched Brave and the film was like in the middle where Merida and her bear mom found out that the prince became Mor'du I though that they might find another way to break the spell, and they break the spell for the prince/Mor'du as well and based on the stone carvings of him he looked decently manly, so I though that that was going to happen and then Merida would end up with him, because at that time I though "There is NO WAY that Merida is going to marry ANY of the boys presented, and Certainly NOT that boy who basically "won" her hand in marriage.". That is what I though was going to happen.

You know, there was a few things about the mom that made me mad, though I know she was doing it out of love and care, so I won’t be too harsh. But what made me really mad was when she told Merida she was acting like a child. Merida is only 16, so technically she IS a child.

So underrated this 2012 Pixar flick. I really loved the story and its characters, especially Scottish native Kelly MacDonald voicing leading lady Princess Merida. However, my only nitpick out of this movie was it felt rushed. Like they needed to resolve the friction between Merida and her mother Eleanor, but I believed more could've been fleshed out on the subplot involving Mordu and the kingdom he once reigned. It's like Finding Nemo (family conflict issues) meets Brother Bear.

Merida's the first Disney Princess, and I think still the only princess, to herself sing in her native language in the film. Moana, she only sings in English, though the other villagers on her island sing in I believe they used Maori, but Merida, in Noble Maiden Fair, the song in the flashback during the thunderstorm the first night Merida and Elinor are outside post spell transformation, they both duet in Scottish Gaelic and it's absolutely amazing. This same duet is heard echoing when Elinor transforms back into human form. It's my favourite Disney song, from my favourite Disney film. As a girl with Irish both in my blood and in my cultural upbringing, any sort of Gaelic Celtic culture really meant a whole world to me growing up. This film has a special place in my heart as it's the closest thing I have to an Irish princess, and thus the closest thing to proper cultural representation in a bigtime modern cinematic experience. So this film has a very special place in my heart and forever will! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

It wasn't the tapestry that needed to be mended, it was the relationship between the pair, hence why it didn't initially work. Theres a short called "Legend of Mor'du"which reveals that Mor'du, during the war with his three brothers, ate the witches cake, expecting to gain the strength of ten men after he invited them to a peace summit(really an ambush)and instead became the bear. He killed his three brothers, permanently denying himself the chance to return to human form and forever becoming a wild beast.
