Yeah, I find it a little more difficult but you can definitely do it.

Hi, would the DIY co2 kits work to produce the carpet result?? Also for a 30cm cube how many pots would u recommend? Trying to get a nice scape on a budget 😢

I would go for the parvula and plants that attach to wood and stone (epiphytes, like trident fern, narrow leaf fern, anubias, bucephalandra). You won't need CO2. I've tried DIY and wasn't for me. Can't really control the amount you diffuse into the tank. Parvula I would go with 2 or 3 and split into small portions. Hope this helps👍

Can you get away with planting say on 50% water change as i have my fish in allready or does it have to empty

@graemecross4474 cool, you can take the water right down if you wanted. Around 80%. I've done that many times, plants and fish will be fine along as you fill carefully with dechlorinated, and water at a similar temperature 👍

....try and plants quite deep if possible. This will prevent them floating as easy if disturbed by fish, shrimp etc. Hope this helps mate.
