Hi, in this video we take a look at, for me, is the holy grail of induction cooktops for installing in the back of my 4wd for camp cooking.
I'll give you some insight as to how the usual/cheaper cooktops work and explain why I'm so happy with this one.

Yo brother thanks for your very informative video. I bought a "spector" induction cooktop from ebay and that pos makes my 3k inverter shut down from the spikes! Just ordered this same model "tokit" from their website, $177 delivered (from China, I expect). Also, I was speaking with a sparky today at work and he reckons those on-off spikes are really reducing the life of your inverter, battery, switches and everything connected to the device. Seems like a no-brainer to pay the extra $120 or so to prolong the life of your far more expensive devices.

I have a separate google email for all this registration of products, as well as, gaming bs. These companies end up selling your email to various phishing companies. You should get a separate email for registrations, makes life way easier and you feel happy you got one up on any that sell your info. I like how you experiment and how you explain things, at first I thought I would need a drink to understand any of it, but once you demonstrated it, eureka 💡, I didn’t feel so dumb after all. Not saying I’m not, but at least I didn’t feeellll it. 😂

The Westinghouse Portable Twin Induction Cooktop WHIC02K $239 is the one 4WD's choose, would be interested if it has the pulsing problem at lower settings, the good thing is it has a wattage readout for each burner, the temp and bluetooth ability of this tokit cooktop does not interest me, I have a full Bluetooth 12V setup in my Ranger, but needing bluetooth just to use a cooktop is too far, I will stick with my Bosch Induction, works fine.Yes you are correct home induction cooktops, the cheaper units suffer from bad control at simmer.

If that is an Xaomi app I read somewhere it is pronounced 'show-er-me' but may be wrong. Otherwise looking at anything low power for cooking and this induction cooker looks promising. Been using the Allpwrs R600 Power Station and so far so good, has a 600W inverter and a 300Wh battery. *Edit - re Tokit - mine arrived yesterday. Set it up in the house and it seems to work well. Yet to try it on the R600 but I think it will be fine. Pos 20 about 575 Watts. *Update - tried it on the R600 and it worked fine up to pos 17 around 350 Watts. Peaking up to 725 Watts using a Woolies $16 30cm Mint non stick induction frypan.

Oh, I knew I was gonna be way off on the pronunciation :) I'm glad you got who i was talking about. good to hear yours is working for you. I just need to figure out how to mount it in the 4wd so those fan holes on the side arent obstructed. I would like it built in but maybe I just need to store it somewhere and just pull it out when needed. it is very thin, so wont take up much space. hmmm

Have you thought about a multivolt system with your second battery install? I'm sure you're across the advantages, lower current draw, less voltage losses, thinner wire, basically a more efficient system. Though you would need 12-24 DCDC/ MPPT chargers and inverter as well. So that might be a pain. Drawing 250+ amps from 12v just to run induction/coffee makers and air fryers from a 12v system is just going to cause long term drama. I'm looking at 48v systems, instead of having to power a 3KW inverter with 120mm² cable, you can get the same voltage loss using 10mm² cable at 48v! I've got a nuwave induction cooktop, I'll have to test the current draw on lower settings to see what it's doing.
@LockyourHubs4WDing
@LockyourHubs4WDing 8 ай бұрын
So I quickly tested the Nuwave. 612w on the 900w setting, 1435w on the 1500w setting and only about 1460w on the 2000w setting. I might have to get a larger pot.....

Sup Si, bit slow on the get back. If I was starting again I'd defo go 24v at least but I'm so invested in the 12v gear that Im kinda stuck.....kinda Although my renogy 300W inverter popped its cork. It took a hit from 24v from a faulty victron solar controller. My fault really. so with black friday on I ordered another. It came with a broken park (only plastic, didnt effect it working) so I went through warranty. they offered a partial refund or a replacement so I took the replacement. The good news, they told me I dont need to send the other one back. took them some time but happy with that result to have a spare now.

I went down this dark hole a while ago, and gave up. I started with a 100amp battery and no matter what I did the battery would drop off. Spoke to the battery company and they said no, you’ll need 2 100amp batteries. Still wouldn’t work. Turned out that the maximum continuous load was 50amps per battery. Considering the induction cook top was 1800 watts it was never going to work with just two batteries. I actually need 4 x 100 amp batteries. I’ve moved over to Itechworld world and it’s all good now!

Bloody good review! I used a Kmart and Breville one while my kitchen was retting renovated, the high powered cycling was a bloody nightmare, trying to simmer something without it splattering food all over the place was nearly not achievable. I don't need any pre-set stuff or even temperatures, just on and throttle control.

Yeah that's what bothered me too. Once set up you don't need the phone. I'm fact you may be able to get around the phone altogether even for set up but I didn't try so can't confirm. The only thing you can't do with out the phone would be set a temp but you do have the 99 power settings. You could also set a few up and save them to it for use without the phone.
