Lots of negatives about Kennedy get posted, but usually when weather, bottlenecks etc. happen, these guys are right on it. They had only one runway available during a snow event and handled it very well. The largest line up and wait line I ever counted amounted to 23 planes waiting their turn. The ones at the end looked all jumbled up as control was trying to find spaces for them.

Lined up for departure at Tullamarine Melbourne, early evening, only one runway in use for arrivals and departures..was about 5 in the line, and out to the right as far as I could see was a line of lights of incoming flights..it was like watching a really well choreographed dance...with such precise timing, I wondered what would happen if the timing got stuffed up. The answer came a few years later when an aircraft was too slow in clearing the runway, which caused the incoming plane to make a go around, which in turn put him within 1km of another aircraft...it was a great piece of flying..by that pilot..who managed 3 big moments all at once...and 3 plane loads of people all got home safely for dinner.

I appreciate the impossible situation the controllers were in but still that last TWR controller was right on the line of unprofessional conduct with his repeated sarcastic calls. Pilots aren't just sitting there reading a book waiting to talk to ATC, they're very busy updating the company with important information that helps the company get the passengers to their final destination. Remember, many passengers have connecting flights they need to catch at the next stop.

I know nothing else is so famous as JFK chatter, but these wonderful maestros in the control towers are also comedians!

We 2 or 3 tower controllers shuffling out every 40 minutes so we don’t see this level of stress. This guy here is close to hyperventilating

quite nice to see the destination next the plane names, noticed a AMS (The Netherlands, Schiphol). there is usually only 1 flight (sometimes 2) a day for each North-American airport they fly to/from, the flight lands in the morning and leaves a couple hours after.

I was at one of those planes, there where so many parked beside each other. My plane was Delta Airlines, and we where going to GSP, short flight, but at least we where first, and not flying at that time, it was a fun day. We where in Puerto Rico, and flew 4 hours for that, it was fun!!!

It's pretty uncommon, I think, that you would clear somebody to land when there's arriving and departing traffic ahead. I think maybe that was the cofusion for him?
@andyhui01
@andyhui01 4 жыл бұрын
That’s a valid concern but a sarcastic “okayy” isn’t the way to respond. On ATC frequency, that means nothing.

@@andyhui01 For sure, I agree. That controller could totally have had a better attitude though, let's be honest.

That airport is crammed with airplanes like tuna in a can. It needs some serious overhauling. Or the 2/3 nearby airports like Laguardia need to take more of the load.
