I remember watching a rabbit hole of run down building exploration, and in one of the videos, there was a recently abandoned mansion, and even though there was this 'crEepy' vibe, I noticed that in a room there was an Ikea flower lamp just like the one that I had when I was little, and just by that detail it went from being a lil scary to making me wonder about the parent's Ikea trip to buy it, how they drilled it into their child's bedroom and that they had to leave it behind with all the memories of home when they moved. Once you take the foreign and put a pivot to tie with the audience, the scary becomes melancholic or nostalgic.

HELP does anyone remember the creepy tv channel ( I think it was like 53) that appeared out of no where and on there they had like a soup can video, and they had a episode with a puppet show and they ended up chopping of the kids thumb? Pink Morning Cartoon turning out to be a wholesome animated passion project by a woman for her kids is the sweetest twist to this story. There's a sincerity in her cartoons, despite their strangeness, which shows her creative drive and genuine interest in making something she thought would be enjoyed by her kids and other kids. Seems like something my own mom would've done if she had the means. Shame Ella wasn't able to see the popularity her show would garner online years after the fact, especially with so much of it currently lost, but it's touching there's some remnants of her work available for people to ponder over and be entertained by. RIP Ella Flowers, and best wishes for her family

My first impressions of the show and the song "Everything's coming up spring" were like most people's reaction. I found it weird, obscure, and possibly creepy. But after learning the backstory of the show, it paints it all in a new light. I now look at it as an comforting, homemade, wholesome show with lots of charm. Sure, it's not perfect, and by no means are any of the aspects of it refined or even somewhat skilled, but the meaning behind the show is sweet.

you really need to do one on the almost lost film, "Dolly Daisy in Hearts and Flowers" made in 1930. maybe you can find more information? it is one of my favorite stopmotion cartoons as I am a history guru and all I know about the film is that it once had a vitaphone disc that is now lost, and people say that it is a much earlier film possibly made in 1918 and that the vitaphone disc was possibly added in 1930, and released in 1930. it was created by Howard H. Moss, and was partially restored by Mark Kausler who found it in a basement somewhere and was about to deteriorate. He was only able to restore the second part of the film however. I was wondering if maybe you can try finding the rest of the information, such as the first part of the film, and the vitaphone disc that is lost. Please do a video about it! It would be a real treat to hear your thoughts on an old film make either 102 years ago, or 90 years ago.

The “faked VHS effect” doesn’t look as a result as degradation of the metallic tape itself, but from poor reception of the channel being viewed and recorded. Which makes sense for something from a locally recorded satellite channel.

I, a German, had analogue TV in my room and we had a signal booster (basically sometihng you plug into a wallsocket and the coaxial cable into) and we could even watch Austrian TV (ORF and ORF 2) which was over hundred of mile away (or in other words: Very low reception). I did watch TITANIC over it with very bad reception. The bad signal of ORF had vertical stripes/lines going across in a very periodical fashion (not random), many small, elipse-like, white dots for one frame (We called them "fishes"), "shadows" of moving objects and the colour would go on and off as the poor PAL signal probably often did not contain the chroma information, only contrast and luminosity which resulted in shadows and B/W images. The sound also was not having humm or buzz like this, it would just interrupt fully, and, of course, mono. So what I see here, maybe if NTSC is vast different, is not poor reception but a degraded tape, a dirty record head or generation copies (copies of a copy) coupled with bad codecs from the digitalization. The "Low Quality" version looks like FLV which used to be very blocky but "clean" (without artifacts you know from MPEG encoding). I have a Commodore Promo video about the C64 from '84 and it has the same colour problems (pink, brown and green flashing every full frame back and forth) and that tape was a pre-recorded in-store tape.
@5roundsrapid263
@5roundsrapid263 3 жыл бұрын
Zedek We had “boosters” in the US, too. In fact, I still have one for digital TV. NTSC had the “fish” pattern, we called it “herringbone”. Unlike PAL, the colors could be bizarre, because they weren’t phase locked. Purple people and blue grass could happen sometimes!

To me, its because im so used to the cliche of analog horror. When it comes to vhs now, i dont get that comforting feeling. Its the feeling of expecting a distorted, big eyed face jumping at the screen with some unnerving old song playing behind it. Stuff like that just kinda ruins that homey feeling.

When you posted your original video about this show, I had left a comment talking about my own memories of this show. I grew up in Columbus Ohio and I was little when this show was airing. I spoke about how I vividly remeber the hat episode but part of me was unsure if I was just remembering something else. Seeing this follow up was really cool. It confirmed my belief that I had indeed watched this when I was little. It was on in the morning and I would sit there and watch while my parents got ready for work. I also remeber the Coming Up Spring song and use to hum it a lot when I was younger. Even once I got older I'd sometimes remeber that little tune and wonder where it ever came from. This was a thrilling ride of nostalgia for me, thank you Jorge and the community that peiced this all together. 💚

Boy. I was so little when I had seen it, probably 4 or 5 years old. The memories are vauge other than the actual scenes and songs themselves. My parents had the TV on for me, I was too little to figure out the remote. They were very religious people so if this show were on some sort of Christian network like Jeroge suggested, that would make sense my parents had it on. This was the 90s so there wasn't fancy cable packages and stuff, just the regular handful of channels.....I very vaguely remeber the news coming on before or after the show but, thinking back my parents very likely could have also just switched the channel to the news after the show. Its so odd the way memories work. Seeing these clips from the show quite literally brought a scene of my childhood back into my mind. Its so vivid, the memory of sitting there at the edge of my parents bed, entranced in the TV (I have always been very obsessed with cartoons) and singing or talking along even if I had never seen the episode before. I wish I had more information, I wish I had been just a little older at the time to have better understood what was actually going on (like the channel it was on or the name of the station). Does the discord have access to more clips of the show that Jeorge didn't have in his video? I'm thinking that maybe if I see more clips it'll help jog my memory more. I also plan on reaching out to my mother soon to ask her about it.

ohio public access in the 90s was off the wall. you had all kinds of weird people on there, artists, people talking about their political ideas and/or aliens, and a music video show that only did industrial music. i miss it.

These type of animated shorts that go missing and then found again make me uneasy because you wonder who made it before its information is discoveried they literally get lost in time before someone stumbles upon it This short tho Its actually kinda heart warming tho ngl

That turn in the story did make me sad, I imagine it wasn’t good for her health either to be working so late into the night making cartoons. But it does touch my heart that we can still know her story and see her artworks today

I’ve never cried over one of your videos before, but this one hit me hard. This went from being an obscure ARG to being a heartwarming story about a hardworking mother and her daughter having fun making a show. I just hope Ella Flowers somehow knows that her memory and “pride and joy” is being worked on so hard to be recovered and preserved 💚💚💚

Jorge, I’m not sure if you will read this but it is something you might be interested in. In 1996 or 1997, a cgi animation test was created for the movie Shrek. There are only a few screenshots of it online, but it looks very interesting and different than what was released in 2001. It is referred to as the “I feel good” animation test.
