Here on KZbin, the entire documentary of this tragedy is available. I watched it years ago, and it made my blood boil. Blacks were legitimately doing better than them on a leveled playing field, and they couldn't stand it. Keep i mind it wasn't too much time after slavery ended. They kept us from learning math and reading, so how come we became so successful? They were furious.

We were already "successful" before slavery, which should be considered one of many tip offs that a lot of history has been deleted by these foreigners, and we didn't just end up here singing boogetty boo tie my shoe on no slave ship. We would not have been able to just pop up And be successful as a whole city having just come off the plantation, as the bull### story goes. In fact any perceivable success in my estimation and research, is a far cry from the land of gold and splendor that was here, of which we were the people of this land, Amerindians aka Indians.

What people need to understand about North Carolina is that while it did join the confederacy, there was union territories across the state. Once the war started the black population was able to organized militias (some was even around before the war), which a number of them combine and turn into 4 regiments of the United States Color Troops (when the Union allowed black people to join the Union Army officially). There has always been the question of if Abraham Galloway and few others were still around, would the coup had been successful (as Galloway and the others I mention was military minded and would have most likely kept a standing militia in place. Galloway and others kidnapped a representative of President Lincoln and was going to take him out if the rep did not swear allegiance to the cause of equality and freedom for the black population under the terms of that specific community in Wilmington)

Great information i wasnt familiar with him. I studied a lot about our history when I was taken courses and found much information about our people. This is why I'm anti Democratic party based on much of what I found. Even studying prohibition, the settlement of the West and the Cold War era. All of it connects and play a part in the state our people are in. I plan in the new year to dive into history and study much more.

My mom is from Rocky Point on the outskirts of Wilmington. I lived there from my teens to late 20s. There was still a remnant of BP there that were somewhat successful town sheriff, realtors, attorneys, businesses etc. up until the late 1990s. Maann, when I tell you there is an indescribable dark cloud on that town that still remains to this day. This town is cursed, especially for BP. You can just feel it. I left in the mid 90s and my parents soon followed. Hardly ever do I go back.

The issue was never pooling money together, forming our own towns, building businesses etc. We done this already. We had black thriving towns. You’re not addressing the real issue of racism, ws burning our communities down and sabotaging them through many methods. Those are the real issues that need to be addressed.

✅ What is a black Cherokee? * the majority of the people with African blood living in the Cherokee nation prior to the Civil war lived there as slaves of Cherokee citizens or as free black non-citizens, usually the descendants of Cherokee men and women with African blood.
@AutochthonousNegro
@AutochthonousNegro Ай бұрын
That's false! THE CHEROKEE WERE SO CALLED BLACK OR MELANATED PEOPLE. Native Americans didn't live in the southeast or on the east coast. They lived out west in the plains and weren't encountered until the mid 1800s. The tribes in the southeast and the east coast were exclusively melanated or so called black people. Had to clear that up.

The lumbee nation fought the klan in Lumberton
@AntAntAnt-d8k
@AntAntAnt-d8k Ай бұрын
NO THEY DID NOT! They went to confront the Klan during a rally in Maxton, NC and the state police showed up and dismantled the whole thing. Not a shot was fired or a punch thrown. These are HISTORICAL FACTS. The state police intervened on behalf of the Lumbees because they are beige caucasians, mixed with a little "Native", a little Black, and mostly European (that's why they're not a federally recognized tribe). If it had been Black folks confronting the Klan in Maxton, they would have had to fight the Klan AND the state police and it would have been another massacre.
