I don’t know how you find the time and energy to do everything that you do, even with the help of some volunteers. Raising children, taking them back & forth to school and activities, managing daily household chores, taking care of the animals & grounds, plus renovating the cottage. It looks really good! Gray is a neutral color, so in my humble opinion, it goes with everything. Once all your furniture is in, it will have a true feel of a period chateau. Well done!

I would have loved to see a color that complemented the stone wall more. I also would have painted it all one color, rather than the darker and lighter colors. Sorry, Marc! Beautiful, restful colors that go so well with the exposed stonework. I'm not sure about the dark gray trim..... I'm not very bold myself and probably would have gone a shade or two lighter to be safe. You probably won't really know until your furnishings and decor are moved in and I am sure it will all come together beautifully because so much love is put into it! I am so happy to see you feeling better and ready to share your wonderful home and family with us. Thank you!!!

I know how it feels to not be well. We all had that bug here in December. I have other health issues, so I am still fighting off that bug now. The paint looks great to me. It accentuates the upper blue well and frames out the tree well. Stay well. ❤

I really love it, Amy & Marc. 🧡 It goes well with the beautiful, painted tree and it echoes the stable/farm history of the building in a subtle way. Good afternoon from the SF Bay Area. Nice to see you all up and well. Sorry about the gray paints, with all of the beautiful colors in the world the current fashion for gray annoys the heck out of me. Self imposed Soviet style. Our condo complex was painted last year and without consulting the owners the association made a decision for 3 shades of gray for our building, and 2 shades of tan for the others. Everywhere I go, even in SF famous for its beautiful Victorians, it's gray, gray, gray and black. Bring back color, glorious color! Oh well, I still love you all! 🥰

Just don’t get it…nothing connects…what it that tree…I love painted wood..I love gray( nothing to do with today’s “ ..but am I seeing it correctly..pink and gray? modern colour) but in an ancient cottage , part of your estate??? Maybe a colour palette that fits with the stone wall or floor…maybe some green tone..it s your home but really poor, poor choice

I suppose if they like the effect (and they certainly did a good job of masking everything well and getting good clean color transitions) that's what matters. The two-tone gives a nice effect. It is also possible that the camera doesn't quite pick up the colors correctly. I imagine it looks different in different lighting.

I think there are no poor or wrong choices, just personal choices! To answer a few points - we’re not into interior design so has no idea that grey was ‘fashionable’. It was exceptionally hard to find a colour that fitted with all of the different elements of the rooms because there were oranges in the floor, yellow and grey in the wall, blue, pink and orange in the walls… in the end we decided to tie in with the stonework and yes things really do look different on camera than in reality. Regarding pink and grey together being modern… there’s no true pink here but an element of it in the plaster in bedroom one that came from natural pigment of the kind used for centuries in colouring. In france and the UK it is very common to see pink in the plaster or paint of historic buildings, and grey too! Being historically sensitive is very important to us and we’ve won a prestigious national award for it!

The dark grey gives a ‘ground’ to the tree and anchors it. Color is totally subjective and really doesn’t come across accurately electronically. If you’re pleased that’s all that matters.

I was also surprised by how dark it was. To my taste, I would have chosen something just a shade darker than the other colours, like the *lovely* gray you used in the chateau kitchen. But of course, this is your home, and taste is so subjective.

The greys and blues are so cool against the warm stone color....I would have preferred a warmer colors to blend with architecture.

It’s quite hard to show the reality of the colours on camera but we actually found that the grey picked out the grey in the granite walls quite well!
