In the “Here’s Negan” comic, Negan killing David for r*pe comes full circle, cause in the very first group Negan finds after putting Lucille down in the hospital, the leader makes a comment about Negan being able to have any girls in the group he wants. They scrap, Negan wins and then takes over as leader. And Dwight was there! I thought the expanded Lucille aspect of the TV adaptation of Here’s Negan was good but everything else about the comic was way better.

It's always bugged me that most of the people there have not met, the only people that stand out as unique is the kingdom because of their armour. Imagine being in that battle, how do you tell who is a hilltop resident and who is a saviour if you're from alexandria and this is the first time you met either group. Sure, the saviours and scavengers wore darker colours but in universe you wear the clothes you can get. I can only imagine the amount of friendly fire that would happen in this battle, especially with how many people are running around and how disorganised it is. They even addressed this in season 8 with the armbands to communicate which community that person was from

So, I watched the tv show, before reading the comics. The season 7 finale felt SUPER off for me, a tv show exclusive watcher the first time. The sheer amount of numbers, how easily no one gets hurt, but somehow the two most important characters (carl and rick) get lined up for the bat, and the general feeling of a the gunfight. Comparatively, this segment in the comics had my favorite moment. The reveal that andrea survived, and managed to help out the group, only for it to show her completely beaten up, but still muttering "we don't die rick. WE. DON'T. DIE." was absolutely incredible. The inflated numbers in retrospect make absolutely zero sense, and I think carl getting the bat there wouldv'e been better than what we got in season 8 (although i would have rather he survived of course, bc the story is literally about him).

From my memory when these episodes came out, it was all doom and gloom, then sad, the slight hope, followed by tension, then death, then the line up scene. Hearing that music and Shiva jumping in was all, to me, added in a way that broke some of the tension and other feelings I felt when watching the show. So to me, no the music wasn't cheesy nor did any of it feel unrealistic because I wasn't focusing on realism IMO

Before you get to season 8, can I just say that Simon’s whole thing made no sense? He switches from being a Negan loyalist to wanting to kill absolutely everyone out of nowhere. There is no build up to it at all. Something should have happened to him directly in the mid-season finale to justify the change.

For the most on screen zombie deaths on the highway, not really. A zombie is killed when the brain is destroyed. All these zombies were bisected/cut in half. They'd still be crawling around,with just half their bodies. Ngl, I understand why people say this but for me it's a little bit annoying because it seems everyone convinently forgets this fact for the sake of "losts of zombie deaths"... All of the gunfights from this whole season 7 and 8 arc felt wrong. Like that one shot (from season 8 I think) of 6 people unloading an entire clip on an abandoned car, only to have the person behind it pop up and begin firing. The directors had no idea how to shoot or outline these types of sequences. They should have filmed it differently, more gritty and intense, or brought in someone with experience filming gunfights in movies.

Once the show ends there should be another adaption but not anytime soon to give us a break from twd for awhile. Instead of it being live action, it should be an animation because 1 : With the whole Carl's age thing and 2 : if it were another live action show then I just don't think the new adaption would have the same charm that Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, and etc had. The new adaption should be the ultimate twd experience with combining assets from the comics and the show. Both the comic and show had things that one did much better over the other. They should keep the Shane storyline from the show but cutting down the farm little bit. Keep Characters from the show such as Daryl, Tara, Carol(the shows version), and etc. Keep the very dark tone of the prison from the comic but keep the shows governor. Oh and don't kill of Andrea. Most importantly have Carl's dark arc from the comics and don't kill him off

“Why would AMC handicap a show bringing in its numbers?” You answered this WAAAAYYYY back in season 2. Season 1 was a breakout hit, must watch TV for AMC, yet for season 2 they decided zombies were too expensive to budget for. Despite being a show about fucking zombies. As for now, it’s common business practice. If you work at a major corporation, each year they expect you to bring in MORE profits than the year before, while using LESS resources. It’s literally how every retailer works. That’s why Wal-Mart has 15 registers and 2 cashiers.

How to fix 7B: Jadis is no longer the Scavengers' leader. She's a roving survivor that finds people for the WD version of the Enclave or whatever they're called. That way, Gimple's master plan can continue on. 709 ends in Alexandria. The Daryl/Carol parts of 710 move to "Say Yes," which itself becomes 711. Removing the Scavengers makes scavenging for weapons and ammunition a harder deal, so... 712, our 7B "tentpole" episode," becomes an Oceanside half-bottle episode. First half is about how hard it is to find weapons. The group has to sneak around, even hitting a Savior convoy or two. In the middle of the episode, Tara breaks her promise and tells Rick about Oceanside. Back in time we go to get shown what happened between them and the Saviors. This can be a David Leslie Johnson-McGolderick classic. In fact, I'd have loved to see what Angela Kang could do with the first half before letting David do the second half. David's a hell of a writer. We needed to care for Oceanside. They were basically glorified extras in what we got so when Rick and the group pretty much commit terrorism, it was "oh, ok." Scott liked to say that Rick and Negan were two sides of the same coin and 715 was an attempt to show that. It would have worked if we had a solid connection, spent more time with Oceanside. 716 thins the cast herd. The ending speech is edited to make clear Alexandria and Hilltop lost people while Kingdom lost no one (setting up Ezekiel's mindset for season 8's opening episodes and making the massacre that takes place much more heartbreaking.) Named losses aside from Sasha: Eduardo, Beatrice, Tobin, Tara.

@bishbosh48152 жыл бұрын
SO much of 7B is pure filler, everything was written to stretch out the March to War story to a whole season and delay All Out War, the writers just create obstacles that the characters have to overcome that they never did in the comics. Convincing the other communities to join them in the fight, finding guns and ammo, finding other groups to help them fight, it was all done to pad out the story without advancing the plot at all. I guess some things like Eugene in the Sanctuary and Sasha and Rosita's assassination attempt on Negan were necessary, everything surrounding it and the execution of those storylines themselves left a lot to be desired. And the Garbage people who are literally GARBAGE PEOPLE were just fucking weird and unnecessary, there was literally NO REASON to introduce them in an already bloated and slow season, the way they spoke, acted, dressed, looked, everything about them was just weird and awkward and disturbing, even down to their mannerisms and freaky activities, it was just uncomfortable and not funny or interesting. And I really hate how they legitimised it by having Jadis be the one to save Rick and explaining why the group spoke in broken English, because I just want to forget that group ever happened. I really want to know what was going through their heads when they came up with them. And not only were they bizarre as a concept, but their role in the story is also bizarre. Rick convinces them to join their war in exchange for guns when they are already struggle to scavenge firepower, and basically employs them as mercenaries even though they are isolationist, selfish and untrustworthy, and they paint it is "finding new friends" 🤮. It's so corny and stupid. And then surprise surprise the Saviors make a better deal to them offscreen and they turn on Rick's group, and they would've all been killed if it weren't for a fucking tiger and reinforcements who conveniently decided to join the war at the right time. Then in season 8 Rick finds them AGAIN and gets them to fight for them AGAIN and then they turn tail and run as soon as they get to the Sanctuary. Then Simon just kills all of them. WTF WAS THE POINT???? Everything in season 7 and 8 is so boring and dumb and lazily written, it feels like a parody. Watch seasons 1-6 and tell me if you can imagine any of the characters doing what they do in season 7 and 8

As a final Ep battle it was damn near impossible to tell who was wear. Hell, even during my rewrite I came up with a better battle. Not meaning to toot my horn or anything. This is basically how I had the battle go. - mostly follows the comic version instead up to the point Ezekiel attacks. - The Saviors hide behind their vehicles and shoot back. But with the Alexandrian’s disarmed they can’t do nothing. - Hilltop attacks from the opposite side of the road, creating a pincer attack. - Negan orders a fall back into Alexandria and a kill all order, excluding Carl. - Carl takes a few shots at the Scavengers from a building he’s hiding in, just before they shoot the Alexandrian’s. - the Alexandrian’s take whatever weapons they can get their hands on and flee. -the gate is shut, preventing the communities outside from helping as the Alexandrian’s are getting slaughtered. They get over a part of the wall not guarded with grappling hooks. - Abraham and several others make a last stand, but are saved by the infiltration group from Maggie, Ezekiel and Rick with a couple Alexandrian’s held hostage outside the walls. - pinned from within the walls and out, Jadis orders a retreat. And with them creating the bulk of the forces, Negan flees as well. - it’s a race to the gate, but since the Saviors control it, they escape Thoughts?

A tad bit late, but i started binging the show when Season 7 was new and fully aired and then read the comics, which i, personally prefer way much over the show, when taking everything into account. This scene was the first scene, where i wasn't able to hold my disbelief back, as in how generic it felt. It felt like a typical action scene, that could have come from any movie or show, just to get the crowd hyped up. Also im totally in with Koroto, when speaking of the pace: In the comic, which i finished reading long ago, everything happens way quicker and more believable. Almost nothing that happened, outside from Frownie Mc2 Knifes reappearing out of nowhere, just to conclude his story, felt "raise an eyebrow" worthy, as in "why the hell does this happen now!?"

Carl’s death was meaningless in the sense that it didn’t progress the plot at all. I’ve always felt that, in retrospect, Negan killing him here would have been best. I didn’t want him to go, I’m someone who thinks the series is ultimately about Rick and Carl and losing one changes the whole dynamic of the series. However, if he is going to die, I wish it would have been a consequential death. Negan, for all the talk of Lucille and how big and bad he was, only killed 2 major characters in Abraham and Glenn. It was so long ago, it seemed distant and made him seem like he wasn’t that bad. Killing Carl would have given the show watchers an even further disdain for Negan. It would have made Rick’s decision to forgive him even more powerful.
