You should react to Dhak Dhak from Beta featuring Madhuri. It's another iconic song. Dhak Dhak is the hindi version of the sound of a heartbeat and it became such a hit that she is still referred to as "Dhak Dhak" girl. It's really sexy/sensual for it's time but also a great feature of her sexiness plus charm/cuteness. I can't wait to watch you discover more of her as well as the others in this film.

Ek Do Teen isn't her very first performance. She actually acted in films for years before it but it was her breakout moment that basically solidified the beginning of her superstar status. I can't wait to see the reaction. I'm a huge Madhuri fan. I recently saw Devdas for the first time and while everyone did well, she stole the show for me (though admittedly, I am probably just a wee bit biased). One of my favorite Sanjay Leela Bhansali films from modern times is Padmavaat. You should react to the trailer and the songs. I also love Ram Leela. You saw one of the songs from that film (Ang Laga De). I'm not as versed in modern Bollywood or Bollywood in general as many of the people subscribed are, but those are my recommendations. The director of Devdas is an artistic genius in my opinion and he has directed both of those films which are more recent than Devdas.

Jackie Shroff is one of the greatest actors in Indian cinema. His body of work is truly impressive. And what do I say about the great Madhuri Dixit. Such an heartfelt and powerful performance she gave in this film, which she was awarded the Supporting Actress for. Edit: please do some song reactions to the actress Sushmita Sen. I absolutely love her and think that she is very underrated.

This song is almost at the end of the movie, just before Devdas dies... Madhuri had asked the friend of Devdas to bring her back her Dev Babu for one last time.... so at 6:01 you do see him blessing her with his hand on her head, almost like a brother to a sister... a very rare sentiment captured, shown by anyone to a woman working in brothel

I would suggest dil to pagal hai it's not too modern but it's not old either.. From 1997/98 To me the film has this magical quality about it and all of the songs just ignite happiness and a magical feeling within me. Reminds me of my childhood I suppose

I love all the songs from Devdas. The very ending of Devdas is on youtube if you want to do a reaction video. Its 4 minutes. Just watching the ending alone is sooooo sad. I remember watching the movie once and after that I would watch the movie and songs but never the ending. I love watching your reactions.

I accidentally stumbled on this scene of this film playing on Finnish television, without having really watched any Bollywood films or songs beyond the usual sort of background exposure and awareness, but the scene was so powerful for all the reasons you go into that I soon went and watched the whole film (not a short one, mind you!) and came out very impressed, and now I think I'm in the beginning of something of a deep dive. Special credit goes to Chattopodhay for the story, Bhansali for the direction, Darbar for the music, and Dixit for the beautiful, beautiful performance!

This is like when you go to a pub or a bar and you're just having a good time... but understanding that there is an underlying problem with Shah Rukh Khan's character. He is drowning his sorrows as people do unfortunately. Madhuri's character is complete in this movie... watch the movie. She was pregnant while filming this song... Her love for him is pure but she knows he loves Aishwarya Rai's character. 🙂

Where do I begin with this reaction. I love how you pay such detailed attention to what is happening on-screen. You share a rare and great perspective; it's brilliant to hear you reflect your thoughts back. It's been a while now since I've seen this version of Devdas. This really is one of my favourite performances by SRK. He was superb in this film - and I yearn to watch him do something meaningful at this stage in his career. Unfortunately his recent performances have been horrifying to watch. But that is another conversation for another day. I personally feel that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is actually a far better director when he works on a smaller scale with limited resources and budget. He has the ability to bring out such beauty and nuance as he has a rare and unique focus. I don't enjoy his love affair with grandeur so much - it's too much for me. He does it well. But he has a tendency to repeat himself on a larger scale. And after Devdas, many of his films be it Bajirao Mastani, Ram Leela or Padmavat, there are so many reminiscent shades of Devdas in those films - from storytelling, cinematography and music to performances. It's obvious that Devdas was a true passion project for Sanjay, because it still stands the test of time - this film never becomes old. It has a way of becoming relevant. I feel when I watch Sanjay's larger-than-life films, he hasn't fully overcome his love for Devdas - he'll find a scene, song or sequence, and you'll be reminded of Devdas. I wish Sanjay would transition back to making smaller films, because that's where his perspective comes alive. I would highly recommend you watch Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Khamoshi - The Musical' (1996). This was one of his first - and finest - films, in my view. The story is about a deaf couple who have a daughter who yearns to become a singer. The screenplay, dialogue, music and performances are phenomenal. This film is on a smaller scale, but it's poetic and sincere. This is by far one of my all-time favourite SLB films. Do watch this film if you get an opportunity, and listen to the songs, they are simply stunning.

madhuri is portrayed as Meera (the one who worshiped Krishna and devoted her life is Krishna's devotion) and Paro is portrayed as Radha (childhood and eternal love of Krishna with whom he spent romantic pasttimes like dancing and flute playing). it is said that when Radha and Krishna danced together then whole universe stood in amazement to witness eternal love. Radha Krishna never married.

In this video, SKH is dying because he used to drink a lot.. He has been warned by his doctor that if he starts drinking again, he will die. SRK obeyed to that but somehow, when he met his long-lost friend, his friend offered SRK to join him for a drink. At first SRK refused, but in order not to disappoint his friend, he accepted the offer. The bad thing is, his friend did not know SRK's situation..

The earlier version was more simple and authentic striking at the heart of the soul. The new Devdas was more for the elaborate visuals and display at the superficial level. It felt very artificial. ☺

Totally agree. Nowhere near Devdas (1955). Dilip Kumar as Devdas gave a very nuanced and intense performance, his agony and slow disintegration was beautifully captured. There was no fancy camerawork and lavish sets to distract the viewer, and when Dilip Kumar spoke it was from the very depths of his soul. The current Devdas was more like Las Vegas on steroids, all twinkling chandeliers and mosaics.

You honestly need to watch the movie to get the context. There are so many nuances going on all at the same time. Here both Jackie and Madhuri are trying to get alcohol away from Shahrukh as he already is critically ill... due to alcohol. He is told never to drink alcohol again... else it could be life-threatening for him.
