The State of Kentucky had a very bad flood this summer. Over 100 homes lost in the high waters. 50 or so deaths. As soon as the water went down. Chris Stapleton was knee deep in mud helping people he did not even know. He just drove to the mountains and help the first person he saw. That is a great thing that few so called stars would do. Very cool Mr Stapleton.

He's so humble with such an amazing talent that just grabs everyone listening and plugs right into a primal place inside them. Being juvenile, I am thinking about how women just swoon at his music. I can't imagine what it would be like to be capable of that. This is more on the side of old school blues like BB King and Buddy Guy.

Hi from your new subscriber in Charlotte, NC, USA! I saw you were reacting to Chris Stapleton & "Cold" and I had to check your channel/reaction out! Starting Over is his latest album & it's amazing! I've watched tons of Stapleton reactions & yours was the closest to my own in the way you looked, the comments you made & the whole ball of wax! Chris Stapleton IS NOT just a country artist. If he was, those violins would've been "fiddles", etc. (FYI: I've never been nor will I ever be a country music "fan". I can appreciate certain songs/performers but I grew up in the hills of Virginia & all my parents listened to was country. It drove me bonkers!) 🎸💯 Chris Stapleton's bluesy, gritty, soulful voice (along w/his badass guitar skills), the piano, the arrangements & transitions, and THOSE INCREDIBLE STRINGS (which add EVERYTHING to "Cold") blend together to make this an unbelievably special piece‼🤯🔥 I love most of his work; but, "Cold" is in a class of its own. Just like Chris Stapleton is his own genre. He's definitely a legend in our time! If you haven't already done so, check out these other great Stapleton joints: "Barely Alive", "Fool Me Again", "I Was Wrong", "It's a Man's World", "Sometimes I Cry" & "What Are You Listening To". Chris Stapleton's live performances are every bit as good & in many cases BETTER than his studio stuff! I recommend you take a giant leap into the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole & just enjoy the whole experience. I really like his work from when he was the front man with the Southern Rock group The Jompson Brothers ("Inside Your Head")! Take care. Stay safe. 🤘

Hi Jon, Great reaction to this song / performance. I also saw your reactions to Tennessee Whiskey and Sometimes I Cry on your old channel. Chris is considered country, but you can’t compare him to most other country music that’s out there right now. You’re right; he’s blues, soul, R & B. He and his band are simply incredible. Do yourself a favor and dive in deeper to his music. You’ll be blown away. He’s done collaborations with JT, Pink, Sheryl Crow, Santana, H.E.R. and many others. You definitely need to check out his cover of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters. His version is really something.

Take a look at the settlement of the US eastern mountain areas, ie, Kentucky, W. Virginia, Tennessee,, and you’ll likely see a common thread of old Scottish folk music and “country”, with similar instruments; fiddle”, accordion,et al, with similar themes of day to day life. Overtime, gospel & blues crossed cultures and was a natural integration for country folk. This genre and its audience has a lot to choose from. Thank you for sharing. This man is an extraordinary talent by any measure!

Country music encompasses many different types of music. It's always been about story telling and the trials and tragedies that regular people go through. So you have the people of the Grand Ol' Opry like Dolly Parton, Hank Williams Sr, Loretta Lynn, etc.to the Outlaw country music by Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, etc. to the blue grass songs like Rocky Top by the Osborne Bros, Bluegrass Boys, etc., Bluesy side of country music like Chris Stapleton, Ray LaMontagne, etc., Ballads like with Marty Robbins, Sawyer Fredericks, etc. Country is not just one kind.

Country, like rock, draws heavily on the blues but it isn’t usually this bluesy. Stapleton grew up listening to his dad’s record collection and there must’ve been a lot of old country, classic rock, and blues in there. He’s mashed them all together and made something completely irresistible. I mostly come to reaction channels to see people react to him. I stay when find I really like the reactor. I’d be here for any and all Stapleton reactions you might care to do. You seem very genuine and this felt almost like hearing the song again for the first time.
