Good enough is extremely subjective and 'good enough' will become 'not good enough' in way less time than 'more than I need in present time' machine. Also he didnt test any AAA demanding title except Cyberpunk and not surprisingly it handled everything well except Cyberpunk. Playing it on high and hitting only 47FPS isnt really good enough, because difference between max and high settings is drastic. Basically high settings isnt very demanding at all and running it on 47fps assumes that it cant really handle AAA demanding gaming even now and how bad is it gonna be in next 2-3 years? 'good enough' setups are always pretty questionable. And its not even guaranteed that you will get everything for the same price as in the video (most of the times u will end up paying higher price overal) And its not only a PC itself. Monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, headset is required which adds another 3-4 hundreds of dollars (in case if you go for pretty budget choice) and at that point you are better off getting a laptop with 2070 or 3060. I got my i7-11800H and RTX 3060, 16GB 3200Mhz ram and 1TB nVME ssd (basically significantly more powerful machine than the one in the video) laptop for $700 and there tons of deals. my particular laptop runs Cyberpunk with every setting maxed out at around 70-75FPS (utilizing DLSS) average and on High settings (same preset this PC got 47fps at) it gets 90-95FPS average and im talking about $700 laptop with its own keyboard, mouse, speakers and 144Hz 17.3 inch display. And it will surely last 3-4 years easily in AAA demanding games at very high-maxed presets and after that at moderate settings. So research or watch other stuff before concluding such a ignorant statement form casual perspective.

Yep. And people still think that building PCs is a super impossible task. A lot of people don't realize that modern PC building is dramatically simplified compared to 2-3 decades ago. This is pretty much how I started, in the early 2000s (I was just over 30 though). I managed to break PC's several times, and had to go looking for answers on my work computer or the internet cafe's after work, then go home and try solutions. You're right, it's all at our fingertips nowadays, with so many people out there offering helpful tutorials. KZbin is great for general info and build tutorials, especially for noobs. I still go to forums when I have a very specific problem because they still seem to be the place where you can get a lot of different proposed solutions to a very specific problem.

Great build man! Most people out there don't understand that you can in fact build a good PC for around $500. Everyone has this mind set of needing the best of the best when in reality your average person isn't even going to notice the difference between DDR4 and DDR5 when gaming. People need to really sit down and think to themselves "What am I really going to be doing with this build in terms of workload" before choosing where they're going to allocate their money. Once again thank you sir for helping people understand that $500 is enough for a mid tier build.

This is a great budget build, the 5600 is a killer budget cpu. The 650w PSU also gives you the flexibility to go for a stronger graphics card (a 3060 is probably as high as i would go, or a 6600xt). Personally, i would also spend a little more on a b550 board and pair it with a pcie gen 4 m.2 because I really value fast boot and load times.

I built my first PC about 9+ years ago and it is still going strong. Granted, I just use it as a home theater pc for streaming and web use like KZbin. And some mild gaming. Nothing serious. It can play the last Sim City game fairly well. Just have to turn some graphics down a little. But not too much. I can still enjoy the game. But I game on console now so it's not an issue for me. The only thing I have had to replace is my power supply so far. Knock on wood. But building them is so much fun and rewarding. Great video by the way.

That's exactly what I built for my daughter 2 weeks ago, with a minor change from this video. The CPU. I bought a used Ryzen 5 2600. It's enough for her. (If she ever needs, she could swap for a 5000 series CPU. I already flashed the BIOS and tried a Ryzen 5 5600 on the MOBO) I got (in Canadian dollars, tx incl when new) =================================== Gigabyte B450 DS3H (new) = 92$ Corsair 3200mhz CL16 16 Gb (new) = 70$ Ryzen 5 2600 (used) = 80$ EVGA 500 watt Gold (new) = 69$ Asus GTX 1660 Super (used) = 180$ Kingston 2.5" SSD 480 Gb (new) = 50$ Toshiba 7200rpm HDD 640Gb (free) = 0$ Cooler Master MB600AL case (new) = 80$ DVD drive (free) = 0$ Miheal RGB LED strip (new) = 28$ Gammaxx 400 cooler (used) = 20$ Total = 669$ CAN (499.34$ US) She's going to get about 5% less FPS than the build in this video, because of the CPU... But my build is more beautiful :) Ya know... when it's for a girl, aesthetics are more important...Look who's buying Volkswagen Beatles ahaha!! ;)

!! TO EVERYONE PLANNING ON USING THIS EXACT CPU/MOBO COMBO !! I do not want anyone finding out the hard way and Oz says it in a misleading way, but this CPU and motherboard are compatible, but the motherboard requires you to update the bios to support this CPU. You cannot do that unless you have an older CPU to upgrade it so that you can run the PC. If you turn this PC on with the same CPU and motherboard combo, it will not post. You will either have to buy a downgraded CPU or use a more modern motherboard that can support a Ryzen 5 5600X. Or, even better, a motherboard with BIOS flashback. I don't want anyone making this mistake. Please be cautious.

@@nytriic I would look at an A520 motherboard, but that's not a guarantee either. If you are buying locally then ask the seller to update the BIOS for you. If you are buying online then there is no guarantee that the motherboard will support Zen 3 CPU's out of the box.

@@nytriic Those parts are solid. Updating the BIOS is pretty straightforward. You need to use a USB stick and connect it to a working computer and then download the BIOS onto the USB stick. Then connect the USB stick to the motherboard that needs to be updated and then go into the BIOS (usually press the Delete key at bootup) and there should an option to update the BIOS. The only problem is that if the motherboard (with its current BIOS version) doesn't support that particular CPU then you will just get a black screen. I would suggest that you buy the motherboard from a local store and ask them to update the BIOS for you. Then the rest of the parts you can buy online to get better prices.

Hey just want to say thanks. I used this as a source for parts and starting the process of upgrading my build. Ran into a snag cuz I got a brand new MoBo instead of the used. Which led to Bios and CPU incompatibility. So quick note for anyone else who may do that make sure the Mobo is up to date or you have an older cpu to update bios before you go to the Ryzen 5
