This guys story is so close to mine, it's actually insane. My dad died in 2008, when I was 10 years old. Just like Jordan, I kinda just shut down. Before, I was relatively healthy. I played baseball in school and such. But after then, literally everything went downhill. I rapidly gained weight. I would eat to cope. I gave up on life. I didn't really care about anything. I went through school with no friends due to my weight. I gave up on school too. I didn't do my work, I missed over a month of school and I got truancy on two occasions. But it didn't matter what happened, because I didn't really care. I made it up to the 10th grade, after going to summer school twice. Midway through, my mom and the school came up with the idea to transfer me to online school. So that's what happened. It was working pretty good for the first week or so, but eventually I found out how easy it was to cheat on it, and that turned into just not doing any of the work at all. They kicked me out, and I never really went back to school. So I suppose I technically dropped out of school. Anyways, fast forward to the beginning of last year. I was at my biggest weight of 323 pounds at 17 years old. I had to go into the hospital for appendicitis, and they admitted me for an appendectomy. After the procedure was finished, the doctor came in and basically told me the surgery was more difficult that it should have been due to my weight and he recommended to get gastric bypass surgery. Right then I kinda just woke up and said to myself that I had to change. So that's exactly what I done. After I had recovered from surgery. I immediately changed my diet. I cut down my portion sizes, stopped eating fast food and junk food, sugar, etc. It was working. I lost over 50 pounds just by doing that. Then I switched to the Keto diet, and now I've lost over 100 pounds. After losing so much weight, I basically gained my life back. I got my GED, I got a job, I actually started making friends, my anxiety and depression almost completely went away. Life is pretty amazing right now, and it's all due to me losing weight. Never would have thought that my weight was holding me back so much. If anyone out there is reading this and thinking they can't do it, trust me, you can. If I can do it, you can too. Don't give up. Never stop fighting. You can do it. I believe in you.

Thank you very much for the words. Your story is an inspiration to me to not give up and to move along further in my journey. In my case, that's going to the gym, which is what I started doing a few weeks ago. That leads me to a question; do you have any tips on what I should do at the gym just for general weight loss, until I get to a point to build muscle and such. I kinda have just been doing a little bit of everything the three times I've went so far.

DubstepEditzz I know I'm not Jordan but I've lost weight myself. 125 lbs to date and my biggest tip is to start off lower and upper body days. Start off with weights that you can handle and gradually go up in weight from there. I eventually started to focus on certain muscle groups for each day and I'm looking into strength training like Jordan but you're going into the right direction. The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn.

Just a tip, avoid sugar completely but do NOT cut fat out of your diet. Eat low carbs instead. Fat is actually essential for testosterone production. If you cut fat out of your diet you wont lose as much weight as a low carb diet. Even worse, without fats for proper testosterone production, youll drastically increase the chances of erectile disfunction aswell as lose muscle mass (which you need in order to burn maximum calories). I reccomend a ketogenic diet. Be sure to research it thoroughly before you start it though. It can be dangerous if done incorrectly for extended periods of time. Its pretty miserable for the 1st week or 2 but gets easier once your body learns to burn fat for energy instead of carbs. At that point the weight just flies right off aslong as you dont mess up the diet.

Hey, you can be kind & also encourage people who are struggling with their weight and body image. Bullying/Picking on them only showcases how emotionally stunted you are as a person. And don't rebut with the "Tough Love" nonsensical approach. That's case by case. And remember not every portent of advice is 100% the correct course of action taken. Some folks thrive off the strict drill sergeant guidelines. Others flourish when calmly and quietly assisted. Learn to read the room & to also recognize that not every person is the same cookie cutter mold personality. Tensile strength isn't how we measure a person. We measure a person by their character. I, too, was in a car wreck 2 years ago, 200+ lb overweight. Then when my therapy started the lockdown hit. I am just getting to the point where I can walk short distances without a walker. I still spend time in the wheel chair at home, but less and less. I am beginning a keto lifestyle, actually have started testing the waters amd trying recipes just the past 2 weeks. I am really excited about it and feel like I can do this but watching this type of video is so inspirational, as are the comments like yours!! As long as I’m this heavy I am going to have a super difficult time walking like a normal person again and I really want to. I want to play with my grandchildren rather than just watching them play. I am looking forward to donating that wheel chair to someone who really needs it!! God bless you Brandon for sticking with it, and for getting through it! There’s alot of joy yet to be shared out there!

Damn football was close to saving him. I know it doesn't sound like it because the coach wanted him for his size. But most of the linemen I played with were also used for that. But it was the first time they ever did something physically demanding, and with football, they got a taste of it, and most enjoyed it. So after football most, began working on there own and got to a healthy weight.

If you want to put on weight... eat. It's that simple.
@MrMongoose2218 жыл бұрын
SkullflowerEOS its not that simple when you're skinny and used to eating small amounts. Its hard to eat when you're not hungry and keep eating when you can hardly chew because you just don't want to and feel sick. I gradually made myself eat more, counted my calories and increased it gradually (with the right foods) obviously and man it was tough. Still now I find it tough sometimes and so easy to slip back into just eating a basic amount of food. Training your stomach to get used to eating more is not simple.

MrMongoose221 agreed. I tried to put on weight and I was eating lots of food until I literally couldn't take in any more. But as you said it's hard to keep that up. I try but so often I just go back into eating small amounts I just can't keep it up. I did put on some weight and I'm happy enough with my improvements so far but you're right it's not that easy to do

My dad's story is basically the opposite of this. He was in a car crash that destroyed his ankle and it wasn't his fault. We didn't sue though because she was really poor and we felt bad. Then he couldn't work out anymore without putting his ankle through hell. Even if he isn't working out his ankle still hurts. Now he rarely works out and he is gaining lots of weight.

Lol, my dad walks our dog between 5-7 miles a day, and she's 11. When she was younger it could be up to 10 miles per day. She's actually very slim (but also a finnicky eater) with no muscle. Then again she's a cattle dog, so she's built to run/herd. I can't imagine a Boston Terrier holding out for 4 miles!

They're too embarrassed to admit that they voted for the wrong president. So they project the blame to Russians. This is a joke, coming from a fellow American. I'm sure you're edgy little self can learn some history now, seeing that the whole world except America uses the metric system. Don't be butt hurt, fellow American.
