My sister loved this song. She loved it so much. I joked to her once that I would bring my guitar to her house one day and play it and she would sing the lyric. She laughed, but she kinda liked the idea but told me not to be so daft, although If I had turned up one day and said "Let's do it", she would have. Somehow, it never happened. She passed four years ago today and now I can't hear this song now without thinking how great it would have been if we could have done it just the once. It wouldn't have come out perfectly, but it would have been something we had. And for us, it would have been special.

We are of the same generation, and I am so thankful I got to walk this earth the same time as Miss Joni Mitchell. The likes of her will not come along our way again. She has indeed kept a lot of us on our feet.

Wow, the imagery in her words! Who would think to put those words together to describe someone who is deeply in love with a person who hurts them bitterly?

She has a beautiful voice. Just as Buddha reached perfection of the character, so did Joni in her style of singing. For such is the manifestation of our Lord, so many flowers blooming. But existence of flowers is our viewpoint. Now viewpoints are a very thoughtful measure. Viewpoints are hard to understand.

Its not a good song in any way. Adele's Someone Like You is a million times better. This song doesn't carry any good melody or harmony at all. Just strings of words that Joni made different notes of. Has no cohesiveness. The line Canada, oh Canada. Lmao wtf. Hilarious

I love the lyrics to this song, they are amongst the best ever written, but the only version I know about that I love or even like is the Tori Amos one(I used to adore her, I mostly just like her covers now.) Joni's voice is nails on a chalkboard to me. I don't much like jazz either (other than some really spare instrumental stuff that doesn't sound like four people playing four different songs) so she isn't really my cup of tea. But anyway the lyrics absolutely kill me, especially "lonely painter... in these lines from time to time."
