Welcome back to another week of DHG where today myself and my brother Paul have been challenged to a match at The Belfry Resort by the Head Professional Dan Warwick and our very own Joe The Pro.
We are over the moon to have the opportunity to play the Brabazon Course only a few days before the start of the British Masters so a big thank you to the resort for allowing us to play this iconic venue.

Great vlog team and a fair result. What a shot from Paul on the 16th and what a great putt by Dan to win his match on the last. I noticed that it got very serious on those last six holes with less banter 😄. I remember you chatting to Phil Price when you did a vlog at my club, Newport. You are right Dan. His reaction to beating Mickelson was totally out of character. Phil is normally so laid back.

Good to see DHG back to hitting the ball like we all know he can. The French vlog obviously just a blip. Paul sublime player, well done a real pleasure to watch. Love that place. I was taken there for my 16th birthday as a surprise. I played the Derby and the Brabazon in the same day and I remember when I played 18 it was so dark I had to lay up from Dans bunker as I couldn’t even see the green. Still amazing to play it at that age. Been fortunate enough to play it quite a few times now. Facilities are great. Still get a similar buzz to arriving at St Andrews 🤔but not quite!

Great game on a great course. Just a little correction on the ball lost in the penalty area. You do not have to find the ball or even be able to see it, although that is helpful. I believe the rules state "the player must use reasonable judgment (Rule 1.3b(2)) when determining the location of the ball. If, after applying reasonable judgment, it is known or virtually certain that the ball has come to rest in one of those areas but both are equally likely, the player must take penalty relief under Rule 17." Basically, if the most logical place is in the penalty area and you are all reasonably certain it's in the penalty area, then that's all you need. That said, having watched you guys for some time now, your judgement could be called into question :-)

I hear you John 👍 we did not see the ball go in to the water, it could have been in the long rough, it could have hit a tree or even been up a tree. As Dan’s opponent I would not have given him that drop if we had not identified the ball in the water. You have to be certain that it went in ie: seen it go in
