Oops! I’m late to comment! It’s just delighted that a California friend sent you some wonderful Chinese items with decorations and recipes and books and treats! We have a large Chinese American community here, and in many areas, including ours, we are invited to parades and dinners and it is wonderful! I really love won ton soup, and crispy duck, but I have yet to try to cook those things at home. Each January, our Chinese Ametican friend Tony gives us one of those beautiful red and gold envelopes with a dollar inside to wish us prosperity throughout the year! I keep them in my desk, and they always make me smile!

@@ozarkfamilyhomesteadThe temperature of concrete changes with the weather and constantly gives off moisture accordingly, for years. It’s the moisture from the concrete that has the potential to contaminate the contents of the containers, ESPECIALLY water. Water that is put away for long-term storage should never be placed directly on concrete, there needs to be some type of barrier. Anything that isn’t in glass containers and is in plastic, should be in HDPE plastic containers, which most food safe plastics are. Light, heat, and moisture are not good environments for long-term storage of consumables. (We’ve got a health inspector in the family.) ❤

Actually in china, Korea and Japan the rice is served in individual bowls and only the dishes are displayed on plates. So in china everybody takes a piece or a spoonful of the dish to his own rice-bowl and enjoys it with the rice. And rice is so much easier to eat out of a bowl because the side of the bowl is used as a barrier and you kind of push the rice with the chop-sticks against it and lift the 'bite' to your mouth !!! It's also common to raise the bowl right under your mouth...so eating with chop-sticks can be quite 'speedy'. 🙂 The meal-settings in Korea and Japan are a bit different. In Thailand and India there is another way of handling rice-dishes. Thai use spoon + fork and in indian restaurants + families fork and knife are used. But traditional indian meals require you to gather food-items and rice with your fingers and lift them to your mouth. It's not difficult: just put your fingers together, use them as a shovel and then use your thumb to slide the 'bite' into your mouth - that would be real fun for kids. 😀

Hi Janice and Shawn and everyone. I think Nee-how means hello or thank you or yes in Chinese? I learned that from watching the "Little Couple"on TV when they adopted their son from China. It's a sign of respect when you slurp the soup broth and burp in their culture.Lyatt Sandee from Ohio .💜💜🙏🤟😊

This is awesome I used to do “theme” dinner with my daughters too. They used to love that. The other thing we would do is when at the grocery store I would allow the girl to each pick a fruit or a vegetable that they never had and they would have to come up with a recipe or a way to enjoy eating it. They taught me a lot as well. I learned what ugli fruit is and it a real thing. God bless and I hope enjoy your meal!! ❤️🥰🇨🇦🙏🏻🍁❤️

It looks like you had fun making that meal and I had fun watching it. I watch many videos from Asian countries. Evidently when you eat soup you hold the bowl in one hand and eat out of it the solids with a chopstick with the other hand. It is considered very correct to slurp your noodles and your broth.

That's so Awesome, decorations and all!! I just saw the cupboards in the island, I am so jealous of all the cupboards you have!! I have been weeding through mine to get rid of stuff to make more space but I have 1/3 of the cupboards you have!! Everything looks Delicious!! Rebekah is such a good eater, she likes everything! I'm glad everyone liked it so much! To make it less work you could split that into two separate meals, the Mu Shu chicken and rice and then the soup and onion pancakes. What a fun video to watch!!
