A Chinese Tourbillon? - Aesop Starry Night Unboxing

For the price this an unbeatable tourbillon watch. Mine arrived in about a week and its accuracy is +2.6 sec/day after one week of continuous use. The only real downside is the loud noise made by the movement, but for the price you can not get everything.... I would like to see a comparison review between this an ERA turbilllon. I believe the model of this watch is 7025. Mine is not PVD coated, but stainlesteel and also came with a spare brown strap.

Wow Jason that's absolutely incredible what a gorgeous watch I feel the only question mark is the long term durability of the movement... But for the price it's out of this world 🌍😂 I had butterflies in my stomach while you were unboxing... I massive thank you to China... Thats my only apprehension too! Only time will tell but for now it's keeping decent timing and it's looking good 😎 Haha, I had them too, I've been so excited waiting for it to arrive but I'm glad it turned out this well. I don't actually have a timegrapher but I will be tracking it over a week to see how the timing is on it! I probably won't be using it for telling the time however 😂

@@JasonTheWatchGuyfor the price i wouldn't be expecting COSC, but turbions are suposed to be more accurate by design. there is an app i use called watch tuner. For $5 it's pretty good. I use my earphones that came with my phone cause they have a mic on the cord. And a piece of fun tack to stick it to the watch.

Hi mate, new sub from Liverpool. Looking for an affordable mechanical watch for my 60th later this year. I have been looking at the SeaGull pilots watch with the ST 1901 movement but this Aesop tourbillon has also caught my eye. For the price I may get both as I doubt I would get a better quality single watch for around £400. I only have a Citizen Eco Drive H500 S0555 and a few smart watches but waiting on a copy of a Seiko Prospex Alpinist that only cost £40. As you see I am only just starting to dip my toes in this black hole of a hobby so I will be keeping my eyes on your channel, cheers Roy

I've always been tempted with the ERA tourbillon watches. $1200 ish, no where near as cheap as that right enough. Strap suggestions; have you ever had a fire through the Barton Watch Strap website? They are cheap but really good quality. I've bought loads of them. Have every strap you can imagine. American company.

Just pulled the trigger and got one, during their "summer sale." Not as good of a price as yours, but pretty close, 275USD. That works for me and I am excited to get it. I got a shark mesh bracelet to go with it (the silver version). I needed a nice dress watch, and this is a good thickness for that. Thanks for the awesome review.

@@JasonTheWatchGuy follow up at the 15 month point. Still no running or setting issues, but I noticed some metal shavings inside the case on the back glass. I opened it up and blew them off the glass with canned air, then greased the o-ring and re-installed the back cover. Unless I just didnt notice it before and it came that way from the factory, there must be some disingtegrating gear or something, but I cant see that under an 10x loop. Anyway, will be keeping an eye out and reporting back!

I think the tourbillon is an escapement rather than a complication, but someone will know for sure. Nice review as always.

While it is technically correct it's not a complication, it is most of the time considered a complex complication since the rotating balance assembly doesn't enhance the time keeping significantly. Especially not in the case of these low cost tourbillons that are more about the wonderful look of it more than functional advantages of it.

@@christicks5843 although it's with mentioning that in chronograph accuracy competitions turbillions almost always win. It's like having a turbo, useless in normal service except to show off, but on the track, it screams, and that's what a turbillion is really for in today's world, it's a competition level performance enhancement, you'll never notice if all you do is tell time with it.
