Just to think that two years ago I was there in Niman for one month and would go to the reservoir to run in the mornings in preparation for the Chiang Mai Marathon.I know that Niman is an expat playground and not authentic Thailand, but I love it. Best coffee shops in the world. I wanted to go back this year, but things got in the way. Hope to be back. Thanks for the blogs and happy 2025.

No Niman is Thai too and quite vibrant with scene where Thai youths are big players. There are plenty off young Thai having a good time.The digital nomads or expats are trespassers.

Nice one Walter, Nimman is a nice area for that western feel. It's good that Chiang Mai has different styles of the city. Some of the best coffee shops in the city for sure. Merry Christmas

Yeah alot of the Thai youth do go to Nimman, that's true. With the Uni being so close also. The area is where all the tourists flock to though. Will always be Thais in every area. Nimman is a tourists dream.

🤣 Different type of millionaire though. It’s not all happy ending Loi Kroh seekers. Nimman is crawling with 2 week Chinese and Korean millionaires, staying at U Nimman, Kantary Hills and Akyra all inclusive. They want over priced coffee, expensive clothes shops, Gucci souvenirs. and fine dining, and they want it now! . Loi Kroh is definitely a 2 week millionaire playground though, but a different type. Nice video. I stayed in Nimman when I first moved here. I don't hate the place, that would require too much effort, but I can't think of a reason to go back. To be honest, if I was 25 years younger I would probably love it there, especially on xmas eve, but at my age I'm more than happy to let others deal with the traffic, the people, the noise, the hustle and bustle. One question - the music from 10:16 to 11:07, who was it? I lived in Europe for a while and learnt to love that type of no lyric music. If there is a xmas songs album in that style I'd love to listen to it. Thanks for the vids, have a great 2025.

Did you know someone that died very recently in Chiang Mai Wayne? Spent 12 Christmas’s in a row in Chiang Mai, just treated them like any other day, back in the 2000s and 10s you’d only see the odd person wearing a Santa hat or the odd Christmas tee

Not being a killjoy at this festive time but visiting Thailand is a big no no for me over Christmas & New Year, firstly it is too crowded , secondly- it’s just not right walking around in that heat- it just doesn’t seem like Christmas, no matter how many decorations they put up.
