That looks so good! I'll have to make this soon! If this question is a silly one, please forgive me and I apologize. Is there a difference between sernik and serowiec? The reason I do not know this is because my grandmother wouldn't really teach my Mom how to speak Polish because, "we live in America now. You learn English," meanwhile everyone else spoke Polish to each other. Which was a shame, because I would've loved to have learned how to speak the language. So now, whenever I search for "serowiec," I always get sernik in the search results and it puzzles me why. When I was young, my Mom used to make a cheesecake from cottage cheese. It was cheaper than cream cheese and she called it "serowiec." Her serowiec had a flour cake bottom and she baked it in two parts. She started by making the cake part and baked it in the oven, then while it was baking, she made the filling. Then she pulled it out of the oven, put the filling on it, and then returned it to the oven. She also used lemon juice and lemon zest in it. Although, sometimes she'd use orange. Thank you for reading this long winded question. It was nice reminiscing a bit too. I enjoy your channel. I have been a subscribber for a little while, and I found your FB page a few months ago. I really enjoy your channel. When I'm watching it, it always takes me back to when I was a child and I'd "help" my Mom in the kitchen. Very fond memories!
@agnieszkazadrozna44767 күн бұрын

And other thing , please leave the MUSIC OFF......it is annoying...... we want to be able to hear what's being said.....sorry...... I just can't understand why people have music on a cooking video !!! I would like to know why the egg whites were put in the filling !!!?? My Daughter has been making cheese cakes for years & they are delicious but she doesn't use egg whites in hers' to my knowledge .....What does it do for the cheesecake.....? You seem to have a lot of people watching who can speak some polish and seems to understand it, but you also have some Americans who do not and have no idea what all is going on...... so needs to be explained a lot better......why not let the lady do the making of the cake and you ask her questions & you repeat what she says in English..... I think this would be better ..... Don't know if you have a big following of English speaking people or not.....I read a lot of the comments, but not all.....and I did enjoy your Kraut making you did..... Most of the time cheesecakes do not split.....on occasion I believe my Daughter has had a few to do that.....can an expert explain why it cracks? I have heard to not open the door after the cake is done, maybe just crack open the door and leave it shut until cake is DONE !!! I DID NOT SEE WHAT YOU GUIYS DID, EITHER I MISSED IT OR CAMERA DIDN'T SHOW IT, BUT I WILL GO BACK & WATCH THE END OF THIS TO SEE..... THANKS
