Famous quotes by Helen Keller, but before we start, with the quotes, we must know who Helen Keller, was and why was she so revered.
Helen Keller was an American author, disability rights advocate, political activist, and lecturer. Despite losing her sight and hearing at a young age, she became a symbol of resilience and the power of education. Helen Adams Keller was born on June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, USA. At 19 months old, she contracted an illness (possibly scarlet fever or meningitis) that left her both blind and deaf.
In 1887, Anne Sullivan, a visually impaired teacher, was sent to work with Helen. Sullivan's innovative teaching methods, which included spelling words in Helen's hand, enabled her to make a breakthrough in communication.
One of the most famous moments in Keller's early education was when she connected the concept of "water" with the feeling of water running over her hand, which Sullivan had spelled out.
Keller attended the Perkins Institute for the Blind, the Wright-Humason School for the Deaf, and the Cambridge School for Young Ladies. In 1904, she graduated cum laude from Radcliffe College, becoming the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree
Keller wrote 14 books and numerous articles. Her autobiography, "The Story of My Life," published in 1903, has inspired millions. She was a prominent advocate for people with disabilities, promoting their rights and access to education and resources. She also supported various social and political causes, including women's suffrage, labor rights, and pacifism.
Keller worked for the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) for over 40 years, raising awareness and funds for the blind.
Helen Keller's life and work continue to inspire and influence people worldwide, demonstrating the power of perseverance, education, and the human spirit
