I have 47 Swatches in my collection. I like the colorful and geometric patterns they came in back in the day. My first one was Technosphere.I still have it, and it works fine. Another favorite is Flumotions, of which I have 2. One is in original condition, and the other has been made into an Irony automatic. The hour hand remained the original black one, but the minute hand is the white lightning bolt like Technosphere's. The seconds hand is dark blue. I had it made in 2013, and is my everyday Swatch. I keep all of them in my gun safe with batteries removed. I love your collection, especially Snoopy and the space shuttle one. Back in the day I would buy a new Swatch or 2 every other paycheck. Now the vintages (which most of mine are) are getting pretty expensive. Even the guards are expensive. I'm glad I bought them all when I did. (Jan Griffiths).

Thanks for the review, many watch collectors dispute and underestimate Swatch and their contribution to the watch world and only if you have 2-3 k watch you´re in. Nothing further from wat I think.

I have the Olaf Hajek artist special set from 2014, limited to 888 pieces. I’ve never worn either watch in the set, I take them out once or twice a year put the batteries in, let them run for 10 mins or so, take the batteries out and then return them to their beautiful case, wrap it up and put it back in the Swatch bag. I’ve just got the Moonswatch Super Blue and the Mission to Neptune, I’ve quite a few Swatch watches now, they’re great fun to wear.

I remember going to Swatch collectors’ fairs in my home town in the 90s. Very interesting. I now only have one Swatch: the 1985 “Nicholson”, so called because it was once seen on Jack Nicholson’s wrist. I quite like the Irony Body & Soul, with a simplified automatic ETA movement, very robust. It ran for 20 years. Quite interesting as well was the “Christmas watch”, a limited edition that came only out before Christmas for a few years. I had one of them, the “chandelier”. It had glass beads from Murano attached to it and came in a wooden box with lettering burned into it like you find on shipping crates. Inside of course was wood wool to protect it. And even back then it was “one watch per customer only” :)

Could tell me what battery the 1985 jelly swatch uses? The internet has failed me trying to find the battery this watch uses.

I had a Swatch as a teen back in the late 80's. I don't know what happened to it, though. I think that the plastic 'crystal' broke, and I ended up sending it aside somewhere. It was translucent, but I don't remember the color.. The only reason that I bought it, was because all of the cool/rich kids in school had them. There's had a lime green color to it, which I could not find in any shop that were selling them at the time...

How do you store them?, in order to give them a longer life span. Do you remove the battery when you dont use them?
@irenemcgrath77394 ай бұрын
Yes, remove the battery and store it with the watch in the box/packaging (if you have it).

Funny stuff RJ, I also had the Chronocraft and used it daily back in the days :-) Still working, but doesn't get much wrist time nowadays.

Tempus Fugit... interesting story and collection. The mid-1970s quartz crisis seemingly prompted some Swiss watchmakers to stack away parts & blue print plans of (automatic) mechanical watches for future revival 🧐

Well, some indeed! A lot of archives and documents were also destroyed and thrown away in those days.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a strap replacement for my Saint Catherine’s point Swatch? It’s my favorite.

The only complaint really is the noise … the automatics do a bit better… the best part of it is really there is a design that matches to every single occasion

I grabbed one of the new Reloaded Memphis models. Absolutely fantastic. Had a buddy 3D print one of the Swatch Guards and it's perfect. To me, still the coolest watches ever made.

If you put the watch next to you you're going to hear it. If you're in a regular environment You're not going to hear it. You really had to put a microphone or next to your ears
