A Competitive, Tasigur Reanimator, deck tech

This deck is doing something that maybe only Tasigur can do. We will use Eldritch Evolution do trick Razaketh or Tidespout tyrant into play from our deck. And from there we will achieve infinit mana. In the end it becomes a one card combo and that is really good in CEDH where everything is about assembling your combo on a low amount of cards.
But This is also a hermit druid deck, that can gain infinit mana from necrotic ooze. I like how necrotic ooze synergies with Razaketh.

Razaketh is really strong, I highly recommend the card. The big demon finds his way into a lot of different decks. Not only reanimator style.

You know my favorite part of tasigur is when you combo off with Seasons Past and turnabout any tutor in your graveyard. Such as Dark petition. A five Mana tutor that has dark ritual attached to it if you have two instant or sorcery in your graveyard. All you need is around 10 Mana and you can easily get that with Mana doublers.

My Gitrog Monster deck operates very similarly to this, except it's a Devoted Druid/Necrotic Ooze combo. Huge combo package there, too. I love how versatile Nooze can be.

I saw a video you did for cEDH meren and in it you included a hand-disruption sub-theme. Is there a competitive way to do black/blue tasigur hand destruction control? If not competitive, at least strong?

Discord stax isen't the best. It is something for more semi competitive tabels. The reason is simple. Wheels. You can spend a lot of time and cards to make peopel discard cards. And then suddenly someone wheels.

Not much. Tasigur have fallen off quite a lot. I am kinda w8ing for a big new tweek for Tasigur that sparks my passion to take a dive into this deck again. So nothing saddly.

I know she is banned but you should do Braids cabal minion. I do not think she should be banned with the power creep that has been going on in the game. A modern look at her deck would be right up your alley I think. Stax, control, and senpai Braids. Great video as always and I understand more of how Tasigur works.

I agree with you that braids shouldn't be banned. And I own her because she might get unbanned. But I am 95% sure she will never get legal. Not because of cEDH. But normal casual EDH. Sheldon would never allow her. On the other hand she is legal in 1v1.

Damn casuals!!! :P Still would love to see a modern Braids deck tech either in 1v1 or otherwise. Some of the banned commanders have been banned for so long no one in my play group knows what they would look like because the deck lists are so old. I am sure some modern cards would have changed the decks but everyone is afraid of the crazy eyed waifu in black. :) I have her as well in my collection waiting for her unbanning.

So when you were talking about reality shift in the beginning of the video, how do you end up with no cards in your library and no other cards in your graveyard? You've somehow exiled all cards but didn't say how to set up for the reality shift win. Unless I missed it somehow.

Step one: Get infinite mana. This can be achieved in a lot of strange ways. Most popular is dramatic reversal + scepter. Step 2: Activate Tasigur lets say, 74 times. this will put your entire library in your graveyard but all none land cards in your hand. Step 3: Cast reality shift on an opponents creature. That will exile that creature from the game and manifest the top card of their library as a 2/2. A NEW TARGET FOR REALITY SHIFT :) If they don't have a creature we can give them one with beast within. Step 4: Get Reality shift back to our hand with Tasigurs ability. You have no cards in your library at this point. And the only card in your grave that isn't a land is reality shift. Therefore your opponents must give you reality shift back from your grave to your hand. Step 5: Repeat until all decks are gone and pass the turn.

I want to build a deck that reanimates Keiga, the Tide Star a lot and then sacs it off. I have been looking at Tasigur and Sisay. Sisay will give me a way to find legendary spirits and allow me to play Mirror March, but Tasigur seems like a better choice. I am going to give both a shot. I actually wouldn't have picked him up if it hadn't been for a video of yours I watched a while back.

Well all that you really need is tasigur in play and eldrich evolution. But Golden controll is a great deck too.

@@cedhtv i didnt mean the number of pieces to start the combo, but the number of slots dedicated to your ooze combo. There are 7 or 8 slots just for combo cards. golden control for example used to run only 4 pieces purely dedicated to combo. Now they are running flashhulk too(sadface). I think about building a budget golden control list with the old isorev and consultation jace wincon and add torpor orb etc to fill the slots of the expensive cards i cant offort to make it a bit like your 5c meta rogue reanimator deck you created last week

This is very different from the Stax Tasigur I have. Mine uses Delve to get rid of everything but the stax pieces then use his ability to return the annoying pieces they have removed from play. Something you forgot to mention that Commander Tax is an additional cost so interfaces with Delve. Prototype Portal does stupid things when imprinted with Tangle wire or Smokestacks.

your videos are always interesting for me from a semi-competitive casual perspective. however, something I have noticed is the way you think about decks is just extremely different to most the "casual" population. Do you think you would be able to apply your mindset to commanders that could never be competitive like Kemba? Id be interested to see what would happen if you where forced to build around a really casual mechanic

:). I am glad that you noticed that I am trying to tell the decks ide and philosophy. I am doing something right at least. I had a casual Kemba deck once. I don't think I played the hard core big bad ass equipments. I played equipments that could draw me cards or ramp. In my opinion when your commander is your WINCON you should make sure your deck draws card and RAMP. And you wanna do it in synergy with what your commander is doing, so, sword of the animist!

My favorite part of this game is brewing decks, and your deck techs are my favorite because of how you introduce and explain cards for the deck. I really hope you make more deck techs on different themes, maybe a Xantcha chaos build?

But I have some positive news. I love trying to make stuff playable and figuring out strange things people overlooked.

The ooze line synergize with Razaketh. 4 mana ooze if the deamon is in your grave that is great. But sure hulk is also always great. You could so a swap like that for sure.

@@cedhtv That's true he does synergize well. I run Razaketh in my Tasigur deck with Flashhulk and Scepter combos and he ends up being a great tutor. I threw in Life/Death thanks to your video and that's been very helpful!

You could do a "budget" version with less optimal lands, like the battle bond lands and the fetch lands that enter tapped. It would be much slower and optimal, but much less expensive.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that the combo with isochron scepter, dramatic reversal and life doesn't work since dramatic reversal says untap all nonland permanents you control and life says that your 1/1 land creatures are still lands so you can't untap them.

You don't use life to untap your lands. You use lift to sac your lands to razaket to find rocks. And dramatic scepter.

@@cedhtv yeah man I noticed that. Lich lord of unx might fit pretty well too, since dramatic reversal/scepter combo can generate infinite zombies and doesn't need Nooze to combo off.
