I have a damia, sage of stone deck thats pretty similar to this but plans to build a huge amount of lands, bank mana with kruphix and has a few more x spells (blue and green suns zenith, genesis wave, chord of calling). My dream end build is similar to this deck but its a bit out of my budget atm unfortunately. Definitely going to use your deck as a reference tho to take inspiration from

since this is a heavy lands deck you can add in dakamor salvage along with an eldrazi or gaea's blessing and a skirge familiar to generate infinate mana if you have a gitrog monster on the battlefield. lol it slots in pretty easily into the deck.

Been a huge fan of yours for quite a few months now and I would absolutely LOVE to see you make a Zurgo Bellstriker deck tech. It won't be necessarily good, BUT, just the fact you can cast him for 2 mana each turn from the command zone, and put him back to it at the end of the turn instead of to your hand with his Dash cost, makes for a fun time (or at least I think).

Death rite shaman has always been an all-star in commander ( it's not hard to make mana when you have fetchlands and your opponents have fetchlands) with villainous wealth what do you do about homeward path? Have you considered Yawgmoth's will in the deck? Do you die to armageddon?

Great questions. If they sandbag a homeward path then I kinda die. Hopefully I have enough land destruction to interact with Homeward Path before I Villainous Wealth. YawgWill is awesome it could easily be included. I'm actually OK against Armageddon because I have so many lands and so much recursion I can rebuild faster. This deck is really weak to simple control strategies I lean really heavily on Boseju to protect me. Cheers

A friend of mine built Sultai Good-Stuff with Tasigur as the commander. It is a super political deck and really makes use of that Delve. Turn 1.) Island, tap Island, Tome Scour on self. Turn 2.) Swamp, Delve 2, tap tap, 4/5 on turn 2. I find that this build doesn't seem to have much of a board, so how might you deal with things like Infect, Goblins, Elves or Humans?

It honestly depends on how fast your opponents decks are. To adjust to this metagame I would throw in an extra few early boardwipes. I run Toxic Deluge

You should generally accept the Tempt with Discovery offer and choose to fetch up a Strip Mine or Wasteland. That way the opponent only gets the second best land they choose. If all 3 opponents do this they get the 4th best land. Ramp or combo decks looking to tutor up a piece need to be answered in this manner. Main exception is if you know the opponent can get the lands back immediately, or if they get something out of the lands entering/leaving the battlefield. So generally land recursion decks need to be denied the extra lands even if you can strip them.

If you're going lands you have to go all in! My Omnath, Locus of Rage deck runs 80. My friend's Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck runs 90. 45 is just weak

I do something somewhat similar with my Karametra deck, it ends up being quite a bit of fun. Knight of the Reliquary just ends up being a three mana win condition if she sticks around too long... But one lands I feel got ignored when you were talking about them is Mirrorpool. I personally find it to be a very strong card with a nice of a versatility. In your deck, copying a big Villainous Wealth would be hysterical, would it not?

Dramatic Scepter combo with mana rocks is pretty good with Tasigur. Infinite mana -> draw your whole deck -> kill everyone.

Very interesting deck! Love your videos so keep up the good work! I use to run Child of Alara lands EDH, ran all the duels and shocks with Plains in the subtype (plus a few basic plains) to abuse emeria the sky ruin and sacrifice outlets for child. This deck looks like a lot of fun but I'm curious how good archfiend and krosan tusker are within the deck. They don't seem to do a lot? Maybe I'm missing something, but obnix the fallen seems like it should be in here, as well as a few reanimation spells. My friend use to run kederekt leviathan and animate dead/necromancy to have a cyclonic rift for everyone whenever he pleases, since both enchantments go back to hand when it enters so you can do it again! Something to think about, keep up the awesome content man.

+david saraj I know.... It's prohibitably expensive but more than half of that is a single card. I wanted the list to show off the lands... remember you can run a basic heavy deck and take advantage of those really effecient ramp spells. If there is demand I'll make up a list but I don't think I'll do it for every deck. I do try and switch up the budget levels from video to video. I have an awesome budget centered video coming out soon to look forward to.

I have a Jund Lands deck that has some similarities to this deck that is far more budget friendly. Its like, 200-300 dollars. I'll link it for you if you want to take a look. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/xiras-mud-hill/ Jund opens you up to quite a few good budget options and lets you do some interesting things with a few creatures. My deck isn't complete or optimized quite yet I'm still missing a few key pieces but it is functional. And it too has a janky infinite combo in it that requires you to be milled out. It also uses seasons past. But this deck takes self mill to its extreme and uses some really interesting cards that are sleepers in our format. Spellshapers are sleepers in our format. No one really thinks of them. They often go ignored and even Jumbo Commander didn't mention them as amazing budget options for a lands deck. Greenseeker and undertaker are the two in my deck and I've used them to great effect. They might seem rather innocuous at face value but they are perfect since you're trying to grind out the game a lot of times with lands decks. Dreamscape Artist is a notable one if you're going to use a Sultai lands deck and you don't have the budget that Jumbo Commander has. It sacs a land to search for 2 basics. Which is great! its ramp and combos with hypnotoad. Hermit Druid isn't an unknown Card by any stretch of the imagination, and its quite a popular and powerful combo piece. But its worth mentioning as in some decks its used to instantly win the game. The Manland cycle is one that can often just break out of the gate and surprise someone. These creature lands can hit hard on an empty board that previous wrath spells might have opened for you. If you're running the hypnotoad I don't see a reason not to run Squandered Resources. Especially if you are also running Ramunap Excavator, Splendid Reclamation, and Titania, Protector of Argoth. So.. yeah.. Have any other questions, just have a look and let me know. I know what would be great for the deck, you don't need to tell me that. But maybe it'll give you some ideas. And if you're wondering... Why Xira? Well, she doesn't draw aggro but does draw cards.. I feel that's reason enough.

Jumbo Commander I play Tasigur and I loooove him. I do some of the things in this build, to get me that extra Mana to play villainous wealth. That Mana also fits nicely into a Capsize strategy. A couple other things I do: I use mindslaver paired with Tasigur's activated ability on the controlled endstep to return mindslaver, creating a loop. This loop can control a pod with with Alchemist Refuge and Seedborn Muse effects, and a bit extra Mana than the initial 14 needed. And Tasigur decks seem to be resilient and a little extra, so I suppose this is fitting, but I like to reanimate Jin-Gitaxias early (without aquiring an infinite handsize), so I can play the new Archfiend of Infir, which ostensibly boardwipes every turn. And watching your videos, could get a little more insidious if I put Kambal in the deck.

Very poorly :) The deck can be slanted to either rely less on the graveyard or combat the graveyard hate. The budget version has less recursions and more big ramp spells like boundless realms. You can also tune the deck to disrupt the disruption in your meta. Sultai has a lot of answers and it could be as simple as a krosan grip.

DeathClaw You actually can. The commander tax is an additional cost, so it is added on to the cost of the spell before the cost is actually paid. Then, since it is part of the cost of the spell and costs generic mana, delve allows you to exile cards instead of paying the mana as you pay for the cost of the spell. Delve also allows you to pay for any other cost increases requiring generic mana, such as the ability on an opponent's Grand Arbiter Augustin IV.

Played a deck very much like this (minus a lot of the better lands, very basic heavy) against my friend's new Scarab God deck. Stole his Chancellor of the Spires with Villainous Wealth, cast his Rise of the Dark Realms. Later on, plopped down my own Scarab God and eternalized Chancellor for another cast of Rise of the Dark Realms. Super Stupid

I have one super janky combo in my Tasigur deck, you'll need the following. -Seasons Past. -Any combination of tutors, two. -Beast within. -Cyclonic Rift. -Peregrine Drake. -Deadeye Navigator. First you need infinite mana with Peregrine Drake + Deadeye Navigator combo, now you cast Beast Within and destroy any permanent, cast your tutor finding Seasons Past, cast Seasons Past, cast yor second tutor to get Seasons Past again. Repeat this process until you destroy your opponent's board now that you have done that, cast your tutor finding Cyclonic Rift and then cast it for overload. Win.

No, it only counts the colors on the CMC part. I asked that question and it's been answered by many players including judges. Therefore, since Tasigur only has "5B" in his CMC, he is mono black. Just like how Crypt Ghast is mono black despite having a white symbol in his text box and Blind Obedience being mono white despite having black in the text box.

Niels Berg If his "color identity" is Sultai then his CMC would be "3UBG" instead of "5B". You just told me that Tasirgur's color is mono black so yeah, he can only use black spells. If you want, just use Damia in his place and use Tasigur in the 99.

Hey, let me clarify some stuff for everyone and answer some questions. I think many people that give information are to quick with their answers but and don't always give all of the information. What Color Identity is Tasigur? This is the definition of color identity from the official commander rules page. I know it isn't a wizards page but that's a whole additional issue. "A card's colour identity is its colour plus the colour of any mana symbols in the card's rules text." (Source: mtgcommander.com/rules.php) Notice how it mentions the "card's rules text" when calculating color identity. So if we are "adding up" Tasigur's color identity it would be black from his casting cost AND green & blue from his rules text. Then why is blind obedience a mono white color identity? I see the same symbol on that card! Here is blind obedience's oracle text: "Extort (Whenever you cast a spell, you may pay {W/B}. If you do, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain that much life.) Artifacts and creatures your opponents control enter the battlefield tapped." The part in parenthesis is "reminder text" NOT rules text. So this dodges the "rules text" part of the definition of color identity. Here is some information on reminder text from MTG Wiki. The important part of the quote below is that reminder text is present to illustrate the rules text not to be a rule itself. Also it shows how reminder text's purpose is to make things clearer but can actually make things more difficult ... case in point. "Reminder text is parenthesized text printed in italics that follows a keyword or some other ability that might be confusing to players. Reminder text summarizes the basic function of keywords or provides other information on how the rules affect the ability it follows. While it is intended to illustrate the rules to players, reminder text has no real effect on gameplay, and though it may illustrate the general meaning of a keyword's function, it is often not completely accurate, sacrificing technical accuracy for ease of understanding." (Source: mtg.gamepedia.com/Reminder_text) I hope this makes the whole point clearer. I think its important to go into detail because so often in magic we are just told how things are instead of why things are. Cheers
