@@BeanSparrow it pretty much was. There are limitations obviously due to story progression, but there's nothing stopping you from going to gerudo valley, lake hylia, kakariko, the graveyard, getting the hylian shield in either location (no difference in price before or after talking the guard at death mountain gate), zora's river, the temple of time, learn epona's song and sun song, unofficially make the scarecrow song, go fishing, and the castle as soon as you walk out of the forest. Heck even in kokiri forest you can go to the lost woods/sacred forest meadow and technically goron city as soon as you gain control of link. No sword or shield is required to go there; deku sticks are enough to make it all the way through the sacred forest meadow; you can buy those. You can get about 15-20 gold skulltillas, max out the slingshot pouch, get a majority of the heart pieces (I think you can get up to 8 or 9 hearts, but after the last dungeon as a child, its 11 or 11 1/2 hearts). It's interesting that the 13 heart limit doesn't exist in oot, yet you cannot obtain 13 hearts before pulling the master sword. This basically says it does exist, because link gets sealed away as a result. link is essentually _guarenteed_ to fail the requirements, even if he was able to have the hearts necessary, he still lacks wisdom above all else. And he 100% proved that he wasn't ready. I'd like to think the limit was removed to keep him alive and send him back.

To be fair the first trailer for Wind Waker was horrible. It made it seem like some sort of kiddie spinoff, not a real Zelda game. If they had made a trailer as good as they did with the Wii U version, the controversy would have been much less than it was.

I was one of those fans who didn't play the game when it came out but I picked it up years later and loved it! It was just a really hard sell for the target group at the time and the marketing wasn't great. Additionally, IIRC, cell-shaded games like this weren't really a thing back then and gamers wanted more realism with every new installment so this seemed like a step back for teens like me.

I buy game consoles because of Zelda. I’ve played every console Zelda game when it came out except this one. I never bought a GameCube because _this_ was the Zelda game for that console. I’m watching this because I’m enjoying Deebee’s other Zelda series, but even watching this one episode makes me question whether I want to watch the rest of this game. The whole art style bothers me. The Rito look f’ing ridiculous: like just some dudes with fake beak noses, almost like it’s a bad racial stereotype. And then the lore that they were Zora? Wut the actual F. Twenty years later and I’m still salty over this game that I refused to play. But I’m going to try to ignore everything I hate about it and try to actually watch this series for the story, since so many people seem to love it so much.

All of the 3 most recent games besides botw get undervalued by people but are still very much a thing. Not sure how sales are for them but I for one have heard as many or more complaints about TP and SS, and not liking WW's art style is more a personal thing not a problem, tho initially people had doubts. Contrary to that, botw seems a little overrated but I love them all. They all have their problems like any game but some ppl just straight up don't like them from 1 or 2 things lmao 😆

Wind Waker's opening is so emotional. I think Toon Link has the best expressions and it makes me feel for him so much more. Seeing Aryll get taken and Link just mindlessly running off a cliff to get her always brings tears to my eyes and then seeing his grandma's sad face and the big farewell just makes me bawl. Wind Waker is such a gem of a game, hope you end up loving it even half as much as I do.

I was so happy that I was able to watch this live. I loved the fan opening. Also I died laughing when you jokingly said it was Link’s birthday. I remember playing the demo of this game multiple times before the game was released. This was my sister’s favorite Zelda game for ages and we always had fun playing it together.

Hey Dee Bee, thank you so much for uploading Zelda videos. Seeing this unload really got me excited 😊. I recently found out I am pregnant 🤰 and have been a little sick with symptoms and a sinus infection. My husband also tested positive with covid so I can’t be around him for the safety of the baby. I’ve always loved watching your videos especially when you play any Zelda game as they are my favorite. I really needed this upload I love how you add your own voices and you are so funny lol. Thank you again!!! 😊

Amazing intro and video. Wind Waker is set in the adult timeline you left behind at the end of OoT. MM and TP are set in the child timeline you went back to at the end of OoT. WW has the best story of any Zelda IMO so enjoy.

So Fun Fact: While this game’s Link is *not* related to the Hero of Time due to the obvious fact he didn’t have a child in the evil future, the Ganon in this game is still the same one from Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. That’s all can think of without spoiling though, this timeline shakes up the lore more than the other two ever did.
@badwolf2317
@badwolf2317 2 жыл бұрын
Not really when you beat Ganon in Oot. You stop Ganondorf from accessing the triforce and so he went to war with Hyrule and then was defeated and tried to kill him but wasn’t able to. He was then locked in the Twilight realm. The problem was when the hero of time was sent back the timeline shattered because link went back to a time where there already was a triforce of courage so that made two triforce of courages and it shattered everything. The wind walker took place in the future Timeline that was supposed to disappear but due to the shattered timeline it never disappeared. Basically the future in Oot still happened even know it The Hero of Time stopped Ganon from getting to the triforce.
@calebgoodman2076
@calebgoodman2076 2 жыл бұрын
@@badwolf2317 Okay... that doesn’t deny what I said. Both timelines do happen but the Ganon is the same, just split as a result of the divergent timelines same as the Triforce thing you said. While there are two different results of what happened it’s still the same Ganon from Ocarina of Time from what we have seen. The same would go for anyone in these timelines like Zelda and the many non playable characters. Link and Navi (as well as Rauru possibly) would be the only anomalies to this as we see in game evidence that Link never returns to the dark future as shown in the opening of The Wind Waker, and we have in game dialogue in The Wind Waker as well stating outright that the Hero of Time and the Hero of Winds are *not* related. The only connection would be the curse but I cannot go into that due to spoilers for DeeBeeGeek.

I know it's way too late to say this, but in my opinion, this is probably the best Zelda game to try out if Breath of the Wild was your first Zelda title. Similar artstyle (cel shading), and large open area where you have to fill out your map as you explore. It's also the only other Zelda game (so far) that lets you crouch and crawl to sneak up on enemies and animals. Also the first Zelda game to let you pick up enemy weapons. And the game to introduce the Koroks, Rito, and Beetle

He's also one of the most accomplished as he unlike other Links didn't inherit the spirit of the hero aka all previous Links' skills as OOT Zelda accidentally removed that from this timeline when she sent the Hero of Time back in time. The Hero of Winds was just a normal boy who had courage and rose to the occasion to save his sister and his other loved ones from Ganondorf. He isn't a chosen hero He's someone who had to become worthy

Enjoy every minute of your videos Dee. Especially your message starting the new year. Many years starting in my late 20s now starting my 30s. I been feeling the pressure of the world crushing me slowly. And I've found myself feeling deep in depression feeling like I wasn't good enough turning out the way I had hoped i would when i reached adulthood. Like i let my parents down in many ways and been bottling it up to myself even still this moment. It's what i needed to hear to try to be more open about it to them and i try to do better even though it's hard. Watching you and your chat even the videos posted here. They make me forget my self doubt and bring me memories of the time before i had these negative thoughts. Your expression while playing my favorite games i had forgotten about years ago made me feel like my teen self again. It's how I once felt playing some of these game titles. And I got to say thank you Dee for helping this soon to be next gen boomer feel like a kid again even if it was just for that day you streamed
