At 3:52 seconds this gentleman states that if you want the police to treat you like a human being you have to see yourself as a human being in order to stop police brutality. As a former police officer I understand the meaning behind this statement, however the onus should not be on the black man to action against police brutality. Our job is to SERVE and protect...SERVE!!! everyone regardless of how they see themselves. The issue is how we as police see you.

my 8 and 10year old are experiencing racial injustice my Hispanic neighbors have been racially targeting them to the point I've had to call the police as a single black mom of a 10 year old boy I fear everyday for his life because of how racist people look at black males with false knowledge of them. my kids will be watching this and other documentaries like this so I can be sure they are being careful not to end up as a photo on a T-shirt it's 2018 and racism is still alive I tought my kids love every one cause we are all equal truth is I know being black in America I'm not equal nor are my children.

I kinda agree about what you guys are saying but let me ask you a question do you think when we had our first Black president it changed the way that racism was going or did it make it worse. (dont have a question mark on computer)
@Leon-uw3zv
@Leon-uw3zv 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if it made it better or worse but it did make it apparent. I believe that racism has evolved with the times. Pre civil rights it's was socially acceptable to be openly racist, and then when it became unacceptable to do so people started to use racially coded words, which are still used today. People are still racist but they mask it more than people did before making it harder to notice and harder to point out and change.

Obama becoming president both makes progress easier (call this stuff to light) and makes progress harder, its far too easy for someone to say "look, see, we had a black president, therefore no racism" completely negating the years and years before that. (it also opens the door for the reverse racism racism, "people only voted him because hes black" completely nulifying any of his acheivements, and qualifications)

To the people putting thumbs down on this video (if you are not black) please understand this: think about being afraid of the police. Not in a “I don’t want to get a speeding ticket I better slow down” way, but in a way that you can’t call the police to help you because you might be sent one that is racist. And when that cop is racist, you’re the bad guy no matter what the circumstances are. And even if you’re completely innocent, you’re afraid for your life. That’s what these people are saying.

A black person has a higher probability to be struck by lightning than getting killed by a cop!! In 2020 459 white people killed by cops 243 black people. 2021 302 white people killed by cops 177 black people. 2022 374 white people killed by cops 220 black people. But that is what you write....

my family did not teach me valuable lessons. they tell us about africa. even if they speak on christianity they do not apply it. i am not saying all conversations were waste with my parents but they did not teach me life. they did not give me advice for the real world. they say go to school be a christian and be happy. my parents basically raised us saying or with the mentality that they did what they needed. and that the fact they gave us food, clothes, and shelter was a bonus a part of the reward of parents rather then the requirement. anyways so their mentality was not healthy at all. anyways that is another topic. it is hard sometimes well if people get severe mental illness that plays to other factors anyways the whole blacks trying to give advice about how police might attack their sons i dont think that is an important conversation i see it as random. if you raise your child well they do not get involved with police. the reason why police were involved with my family and child protective services was due to their inadequacy of parenting. anyways a person could say my life versus black issues are very different and what i have to say on that is definitely true obviously i agree with that. anyways the whole story of mister scary policeman thing this video tries to bring up is a bit of an exaggeration if you ask me. in that many workplace bullies occur and cops are not the only job like that. it happens in the education job fields, healthcare professions, legal, business, and etc. so anyways trying to pin cops as the worst from all jobs in terms of bullying i dont think that is entirly accurate. but obviously police not only have a higher then average stress job they also are more likely to be violent then the general population due to the nature of their job. if blacks raised their children well they would not have police problems. the part of the media in news that is not really being paid attention to is dysfunctional family, so lack of planning, unhealthy relationships based too strongly on lust, budgeting issues, low motivation to education, below average iq, as well and combining that to understand what makes the african american community so much worse off then other races in america. anyways so much focus is on racism. they ignore their own broken family cycle. because an abuser refuses to claim they abuse. because a bad parent or lazy parent or imperfect parent does not want to say they are that way therefore no change happens. anyways black parenting something is really screwed up to why them kids are all up in using or selling them drugs or stealing. criminal is a choice so i do not blame parents but at root issues to this mess is ignored what i say truth the obvious issues in the black community but no they have to blame the white man for everything wrong in thier life. they say it is cause they are black that they are targeted. when in reality they are denying reality

This isn't victim mentality, they're litterly saying "don't be a victim, take control of your life, show them youre a human being." stop being offended over reality

the video days you will get racially profiled regradless and will have a high chance of being pulled over and integrated for no rhyme or reason other then you skin color. Don't judge a man until you've walked in his shoes. I know life has been a dream for you but the same cannot be said for many people and you have to take that into account when you make uninformed statements in an attempt to belittle and deny their is racism and their is a problem.
