If you are rolling "Death Saving Throws" when you get 3 saves you are at 0 HP still you are just "Stabilized" and "Unconscious" meaning you don't have to keep rolling saving throws. Rolling a nat 20 will bring you back up at 1 HP but 3 death saves will not. EDIT: This is merely me being a big dork, its a small detail he put a lot into these videos so small hiccups are always going to be a thing. I did not expect this to blow up. JoCat please keep up the amazing work you have inspired me to take up art in the form of 3D animation I hope I can provide back some of the amazing content you have given this community one day!

"Mage bullets" make WAY MORE SENSE than a slot. Slot sounds like something to be filled.
@doughnutboyo69223 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert, but from what I could gather casters in 1.&2. edition had to had to prepare each spell by "filling" one of thier slots with the specific spell . You also could only prepare each spell only once. This is sometimes referred to as "Vancian casting", since it was based on the magic in the "Dying Earth" series by Jack Vance. Mages would forget the spell they cast and had to use a spellbook to recover them. I'm 17 tho and got this from D&D videos on youtube, so might not be 100% accurate.

@amandaslough1253 жыл бұрын
@@War_Magus While the concept is easy, the vocabulary certainly isn't. (like how attack bonus should be accuracy bonus so players don't confuse it with a bonus to your damage, which was something needed to be clarified in the video). Calling it something like "stored mana" that you have to recharge each day, and then "attune" it to whatever spells you want to use, would be a lot easier for players to understand, and function the exact same way.

For those genuinely unsure about the flaws section, I have a quick and easy recommendation: A crippling fear, and a stress response. For your crippling fear you can use thing like fire, or the dark, or the ocean. Or you can try for more exotic and vague ones like your past, or blood, or alcohol, or magic. The magic fear has a slightly more difficult but interesting cousin in the form of casting characters who are specifically afraid of their OWN magic. This works best for sorcerers and warlocks, but you could probably squeeze it in to anyone who uses magic. For stress responses, the most common ones are just flat out running, some form of RP paralysis, a mental breakdown, passing out, a blind violent rage, or something of that nature. You can get more inspiration by checking out the various madness tables in the DMG.

Question when it says 1d8 damage is the damage the number you roll
@nickmalachai22273 жыл бұрын
@@suprememario7957 yup. "d(X)" is the die type (like a d6/cube, or a d4/triangular pyramid), and the number in front is the number of dice. So, 8d6 is 8 of the six-sided dice rolled and added together.

So that is Warlock Spell Slots, Bard Spell Slots, Bardic Inspiration, Racial once a day spells, Insturment of the Bard once a day spells. Different DC, disadvantages and Casting Attack Rolls depending which list spells come from and whether they are charms or not.... And that is only 3 classes... not all of them. you forgot the most important explanation for abilitiy scores: The tomato explanation How far can you throw a tomato - STR How accurate can you be with a thrown tomato - DEX How many tomatoes can you eat - CON Knowing a tomato is a fruit - INT Knowing not to put a tomato in a fruit salad - WIS Selling your fruit salad (even when there are tomatoes in it) - CHA Then again you were maybe right in skipping this cause I hate tomatoes

These D&D episodes are really a treat. Never before have I so thoroughly enjoyed having someone do nothing but insults me for 5 minutes straight. It's funny as hell, I woke up my brother from laughing too hard. I know reading this it might look like a job, but it's really not. I find these genuinely hilarious. Please don't beat me up internet
