The same thing happened to me. I was sitting in a bank parking lot in Chicago and Schaefer waiting on a family member to handle banking business when I saw two officers follow and illegally search two men in the gas station located adjacent to the bank. Once my family came out of the bank we proceeded to exit onto Chicago and make a left turn on Schaefer going toward Joy Road. At the same time the police were pulling out of the gas station after letting the men go who they illegally searched and were headed toward I-96 until they saw me and for some reason did a u-turn to follow me and pull me over. The officer said he pulled me over because my tail-light was out. Lies! How can you see my tail light if we are going in different directions. I called him out on his lie and told him that I just saw him harassing the men in the gas station. This was 3 years ago. I see they are still up to the same illegal practices. It’s not a secret. @@claytonj22 I will reiterate my original comment in reply to your commentary. Violation of policy does not necessarily translate to violation of law. Legally these officers were not involved in a "vehicle pursuit" as defined within directives established by the Detroit Police Department. (you can retrieve the DPD "vehicle pursuit" policy online if you choose to indulge) The fact the Officers never activated their lights or sirens excludes this incident from being a "pursuit." the Officers are merely "following" or "catching up," (DPD policy) until the patrol vehicles lights & siren are activated, thus attempting to stop the vehicle in question. Did these Officers violate other Department Polices? Yes in my opinion, three (3) of which I discovered from reading additional DPD directives. None of the violations are criminal in nature.

2:20 So many things wrong with this short part about probable cause. Sergeants do not determine whether or not there is probable cause, but courts do. Furthermore, officers do not need probable cause to follow or even pull over a vehicle. They need reasonable suspicion. This does not excuse the lack of lights and sirens nor does it suggest that the initial stop was lawful nor does it suggest that any of these cops are good cops, but it is absolutely imperative that you get the basics correct or you open a door for people predisposed to not believing things like this to disregard all of the other good things shared in this story.

@@ShanaLawson Without a "reasonable doubt" how could you prove your argument in a court of law. Holding the opinion officers were "showing off?" thus somehow being criminally negligent?(defense follows) DPD Policy defines a vehicle pursuit as: "An active attempt by a uniformed officer operating a marked department vehicle, to apprehend the operator and/or occupants of a motor vehicle who having been given an audible and visual signal by the officer directing the operator to bring the vehicle to a stop." Utilizing DPD's policy and quoting "having been given an audible and visual signal by the officer directing the operator to bring the vehicle to a stop" A defense attorney could reasonably argue the officers were not in "pursuit" but merely "following" or investigating the suspect vehicle to obtain visual conformation of the license plate. Or a deference attorney could reasonably argue the Officers were unaware the emergency lights had not been activated or were not operational. Secondly subpoena the maintenance records from the City of Detroit to find out when the emergency lights were last inspected/serviced. Third cite poor vehicle maintenance as the cause of the emergency light malfunction. Again its a huge difference between policy violation and criminal behavior.

Right now I've got 42000 in cash hidden, buried. They stopped me on the west side for a tail light, searched the car and found my money, I wasn't hiding it o told them what I was doing, they took it because they said I was going to buy 16000 in drugs or I just got paid from selling drugs.
