Josh I would recommend giving it a stir once you're done with the extraction. It makes sure that everything is properly mixed as the initial drip will be much more potent at the bottom.

Hey Josh,i'm a barista,glad you are obsessed with coffee like i am,all of what you are saying is so true to the point except from the brew ratio imo the standard ratio for brewing is 100ml of water per 6g of coffee so with 24g you should be around 400mls otherwise as you said you underextract,also the water you are using plays a huge rule if it's filtered,rich in magnesium for extra sweetness since coffee is 98% water after all ;) pay him

Since you mentioned you were getting a La Marzocco you unintentionally opened up a whole new world of espresso for me dude. I’ve been watching a ton of videos to find out why you would want a machine like that and quickly found out that my Mr Coffee espresso machine might as well have a Hasbro sticker on it, LOL. Now I’m looking at the Rancilio Silvia M and the Rocky grinder. I don’t yet know how I’m gonna get freshly roasted beans (live in South Arkansas with no real coffee shops) so bean sources would be nice if you know of any online. I for one appreciate the coffee content, fine with me.
