It does make sense but the thing is The writers definitely didn't think about that so if It was reality it would happen but it's only a family friendly movie so no one died ( despite the fact that this theory makes sense )

Well it doesn't make sense to me. Don't hospitals have backup generators? Also, I really doubt that all the babies would be dependant on electricity 24/7 just because they're hospitalized. Anyway, we aren't considering the Suspension of Disbelief that we all need to even enjoy movies. Sonic shut down all electrics, it all got dark and it's inconvenient, that is all. Now we keep our attention on the next scene, and so on until the end of the movie. Edit: For comparison, in the videogame Final Fantasy 7, we start off as terrorrists, and the hundreds of casualties from the bombings we're doing is brought to the players's attention. This way, it becomes real in the narrative.

@@victorperez7877 If you read up on it, you'll see that EMP's have a wide variety of sources and effects. Almost always, an EMP will trigger a power system's auto-shutdown, to protect it's own components, and the auxiliary power source will switch on to replace it, attempting to mantain an uninterrupted electrical current.

I think it's one of those theories that are meant to be contained. As in, not meant to be spread around. It sort of does nothing for the fanbase, and additionally takes much of the innocence away from what's supposed to be a movie aimed at an even younger audience than the game franchises audience

One massive oversight is that hospitals have back-up generators for that very reason. Otherwise a random lightning strike from a major thunderstorm would kill everyone on life-support. It can be further argued that anyone not in a hospital that needs medical equipment to be running 24/7 also has a back-up generator for that same reason.

When it comes to Sonic games, I'd say that while the subject matter is DARK asf, Sonics optimism and jokes do well to cushion and change the tone of the story. I'll give some examples, comparing Sonic to a character somewhat just like him, Spider-man. Let's speak on his parts in Avengers vs X men, evolve or die, or his death in the ultimate comics In Avengers vs X men, Peter is facing both Colossus and Magick alone. Both are amped by the Phoenix force. Even tho he's holding back, colossus is hitting Peter hard enough to turn him into a pastry. But Peter is joking around with them. However, on the inside, he's telling us how much pain he's in. Blood filling his mask, bones being broken from colossus hits, and him stating he's blacked out from those hits. He's being beaten to death but joking about it, however on the inside we see just how serious it is. The jokes and wit from Peter actually TURN the twins on each other and end up in Spidey winning In the Evolve or die storyline, Peter is on his last legs, he's dying but still has to fight morlun. Despite this he's still cracking jokes at points. In the ultimate comics, Peter is shot saving cap, and 'left for dead" as the heroes are separated. Despite this he still swings dozens of miles away to fight the "sinister 6"(goblin just finished killing ock). 5 fully grown men are beating on a heavily injured teenager, but Peters jokes and inner monologue work to alleviate tension. Even the final blow Peter lands on Norman is a witty comeback. Spidey has stated his jokes are a coping mechanism, and this is actually a real world occurance. Humor as therapy. My point in all this is that the subject matter CAN be dark but the way the chararcters act can alleviate tension. Sonic stories are dark but the way the blue blur handles these situations masks that.

I have a theory about why the Echidnas are located on the human world despite the concept of 2 worlds. My theory is that the Echidnas and the chaos emeralds were stolen from Angel Island by the ancient Babylonians, who then enslaved the echidnas and were used to create Babylon Gardens. After years of hard labor, the Echidnas rebelled and after successfully defeating the Babylonians, they split into two tribes. The Conservative echidnas resettled in what’s now Mystic Ruins while the other echidnas took the Babylonian tech for themselves and became the Nocturnous Clan.

I'd love to see the Sonic franchise become a bit "darker" again through the movie-verse lol (Also let's not forget that Sonic basically sent Robotnik to die onto the mushroom planet without even re-thinking it once in the end and that nobody except maybe Agent Stone cared about it.)

I've heard this theory before but I don't believe it because it's too dark, like Sonic gives a Blackout thanks to its speed that generated enough electricity to create an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) it's ok, a lot of sprinters do that but putting this in a free rating franchise is weird, not least because they want to keep the vibe upbeat and etc. I don't believe in that theory and I think in case of blackout hospitals must have a backup generator to respond quickly to this type of situation, well, good video, Sonicsta

I wouldn't say Sonic murdered them, because to murder someone means to kill someone on purpose. I don't think Sonic meant to shut off the power, so this would actually be manslaughter, which is killing someone on accident.

Interesting theory but I don't think that it would be real and that the writers even considered it, people are just looking to deeply at it when the movie is focusing on an audience ranging from 8-14 year olds with plenty of call backs and references to the games for older fans.
