You don't see the right image of Afghanistan in videos like this because Afghanistan is extremely unsafe for its people. However, for tourists who act as unpaid missionaries for the Taliban, there is no problem. The Taliban are the ones who have killed the people of Afghanistan and destroyed everything over the past twenty years.

“The US invasion which lasted from 2001 to 2021… with all of this, the skirts disappeared and the face-coverings became the norm” - its very offensive to not just Afghans but to 2 billion Muslims around the world when you equate our religious attire as somehow representative of our regressive state of affairs. Its very easy to decipher through your language and tell you’re not visiting as unbiased tourists reporting on Afghan culture from the perspective of the people there. You’re there to judge Afghan society from the perspective you’ve been feed in America about how the world and its inhabitants should act and should live like. Here’s a piece of advice to you two to help you grow as individuals, learn to unlearn what you’ve learnt so you can learn new things for what they actually are and not what you think they should be… that’s the whole purpose of traveling!

Well shouldn’t the same be applied to the muslims who go to another non-islamic countries and try to impose their values on non-muslims? It’s not a one way street. Muslims should also introspect and progress in ways which is least expected like for example education of women. You are lecturing these two kind people to unlearn things to learn new things then maybe muslims can also unlearn a few things and learn new.
@need1deen12 жыл бұрын
@@vaibhavpal9873 the first university ever built was by a Muslim woman in Morocco… the whole concept of formal post secondary education came from Islam… the black robe that is worn in graduation ceremonies is the continuation of the Muslim attire… Islam gave women rights to own and possess property 1400 years ago at a time when Europeans considered women to be property… there are more educated women in Muslim countries than there are in non-muslim countries… New Zealand and Finland have now appointed female prime ministers, Pakistan and Bangladesh had appointed female prime ministers since 1988 and 1996 respectively… Western society has reduced the woman to an object of sexual gratification… she is used to sell commodities… she is oppressed by the unrealistic standards of beauty imposed upon her… she is depressed… please do not ever lecture Muslims on women’s rights… do your research… read, unlearn, and re-learn!
@vaibhavpal98732 жыл бұрын
@@need1deen1 whatever you are saying does not match with the actions of Taliban in Afghanistan currently. The Taliban claim to follow quran as it is and they have banned women from education. This is just one thing but day by day their decisions are diverting more and more from what you are claiming about Muslims. What do you have to say about that ? I think less focus on religious fundamentals also is a concept worth exploring and trying to be open about ideas which are not written in quran is what is called unlearn and re-learn in my opinion. I’m not saying to you to unfollow Islam completely but surely there are scope of improvements and need of progressive thinking in Islam as well afterall no religion is perfect and needs reformations as time requires. But I’ve seen that Islam is one religion where people who follow it don’t even want to hear about the flaws in their religion let alone try to reform it instead if anyone questions them they get super aggressive and try to shut people up.

I'm going to give you guys that. Y'all got some balls man. I'm a combat veteran if Afghanistan and I have to say. To think to myself to visit Afghanistan. Right now. Just walking around as a fucking tourist. I'm scared shitless. I'm not scared of much things but, I'd be scared of and to walk around freely like that in Afghanistan. I feel like just as you said it at 4:18 So you guys got some balls, I'll give you that but when we put things into perspective. My mission in Afghanistan was completely different. Like, I had a uniform. My purpose was different. I had a mission. Just like TB had a mission. Had/has a purpose. No different than any other war I guess. Now that I'm thinking about it. But outside the uniform. We bleed the same color. At the end of the day we are all people. Human beings. I hurt, you hurt, I get hungry, you get hungry. So it's nice that you guys are making these videos. It's interesting to see. But I am curious what Afghanistan people actually think about Americans. Maybe now they and we all see we were all fed propaganda for 20 years caught in a political net where even if we didn't agree with this and that we were all stuck in the trance. Afghanistan IS a beautiful country. I always thought that and was always curious how it would be to just explore it but I'm just scared shitless to go. Maybe on my bucket list I'll add Afghanistan. Maybe then it's time to make amends.
